Being Belgian I can say you're almost right. Universities are usually mostly about theory but there are other type of studies here apart from university. I tried the University (ULg, University of Liège) and failed because I didn't liked pure theory then I went on with a "lower" and much more practical type of study (don't known how it is call in the USA, here is Graduat/Bachelor opposed to Master).
You can "combine" the benefits of both type since you can usually make a Bachelor then a Master, skipping half the required year of the Master providing it is in the same field. So if you don't fail, you can have a Master in 6 years instead of 5, 3 of them being really practical.
Although you are true (ABS lengthten stopping distance and allows turning while braking), very few people are able to brake correctly (i.e. push hard just below sliding point and releasing while speed decrease) in stressful situations.
So, for anybody but really good drivers, ABS is a real win if they are at least told to press the brake as hard as they can when there is danger (that why my last two cars assists me when they sense an emergency braking)
Of course, the ability to turn while braking must be used to avoid obstacles but again, for casual driver, it is quite hard to do because it mean looking where you want to go and not where you don't want (i.e. the obstacle).
Unfortunately, this is not amongst the skills tested when passing your driving licence (at least here in belgium)
Actually there is carbon tanks for scuba diving but I can't find any references in the USA.
My local diveshop sells some but they much more expensive than steel tanks. I wouldn't like them underwater but I sure would love my tank to be lighter when carrying it around before and after the dive:D
There is a tool that mimic "Windows" alt-tab behavior, switching between all windows from all application with the keyboard but I can't remember its name.
For the wasted space, using Exposé and a rightly configured DragThing, I never use the dock anymore nor I minimize windows.
Yeah well, my 10 (scrollwheel is 2) buttons mouse (Logitech MX 500) is hooked to my Mac and every single button is working just fine (without any driver, 5 of them are working natively).
Macs may not respond to YOUR needs but I can tell you that it fullfill most other people needs pretty well!
Because, if you had RTFA, you would have seen that the guy actually used a iPod Shuffle for his hack (it is also written in the blurb). So in this specific case, it is not a generic MP3 player...

Yeah well being a Gentoo user, I got this news 2 days ago (and it seems it just finished compiling)
Troll? Someone needs to revise his classis...
We're using BUGS at work.
It may not be as feature complete as Bugzilla or other but this feature is built-in as you can see here

It plays flawlessly on my dual G5 with a Radeon 9600 pro with a few stuffs running (Virtual PC, ...). It uses about 80% of the total CPU power.
So either QT7 for Windows is flawed or we will soon regret the switch to Intel architecture...
Beside that, the quality of the trailer is really impressive! Much better than DVDs I have.
I'm not a teacher but I do speak french as a primary language. I'd translate to:

Too bad I(nternet)E(xplorer) 7 has nothing to do (except an unfortunate version number "collision") with I(nternet)I(nformation)S(server) 7.
IIS7 will do nothing for you in terms of webdesign...

You can get Tiger on CD for the cost of the media after your purchase. Granted, CD version should be free but Tiger is not DVD-only.
Maybe

Well, the mythmusic plugin for mythtv 0.17 supports AAC pretty well and daapd can stream aac too.
It also seems that SlimServer (I understand that MP3Beamer is based on it) supports AAC (as well as vorbis)
Don't forget Gentoo/OSX
Wow, mods are rude today...
I had to read the summary 4 times to get a small understanding of what it was about... definitively speak for me!
Skynet / Liege (BE) / 4 / 0.256

Well, since MSN Search seems to apply the same policy as Google it would do them no good either.
Then you want Linkification . Absolutely necessary on Slashdot
This is a moutains "belt". Nothing to do with Saturn's belt. I assume it rotates with the moon, but I might be wrong ;)
Sooner or later, he will... I promise
