I bought Fahrenheit because I read it in Internet 1st. Remember me not telling him that. I got interested in dystopias as a tool to signal possible errors in how are we guiding our present thanks to it. And have bought some books (after downloading them from Internet and reading them in my cellphone). I agree is the ideas not the books that have to be preserved. And technology can help us do that, in the totalitarian environment Bradbury dreamed and we are heading to, better than human memory. Heck, printing tech do that better than human memory (otherwise writing may not have been invented), that is the one think I didn't like about Fahrenheit.
Plucker looks good, by why they don't include sw for nokia S60 and S40. They are by far more popular devices than those covered. I know many people use the phone internet connection, but there are still lots of places where the rates charged for that are obscene. I which I could find one place like avantgo for my Nokia S40.
You mean you only test your apps in your machine? I develop in my machine and then test in like two or three different server based environments. Why would I consider good a test done in my machine. The customer is not going to use my machine. It is better if I replicate their environment (physical or virtual) and test it there. In the mean time I want my machine to be fast. I want to be able to query the db, have the IDE, see documentation, investigate in internet, transfer files, compile and do basic office stuff without my machine having handling it.
I bought the family Wii the only time I have actually found one. My nephews want one and I hope I get to see one before Christmas.
On the other hand. My kinds hit the Wii remote and the IR cover is smashed and now it is nearly impossible to use. Does anyone knows where to find disassemble plans for the remote and where to buy the IR cover?
[don't take it seriously] If I wanted others to know what I am thinking. I would tell them. Plus I am posting in/. there are not many secrets as to what I am thinking. [/don't take it seriously]
He was a very good writer and that is what I knew about him until now. He wrote a series of paper explaining physics topics in lay man terms. I read several of them in the middle 90's using a dial up connection.
I will have to do a big search to find the current home for those papers. (if anyone knows, please share).
As a Mexican working in IT for a US company in US territory after working for other two US companies in Mexican territory plus a Masters from a US university (paid by one of my former employers) I cannot help it but get a good laugh out of this comments. Let me add so you can laugh too.
If I where to stay beyond my visa I would be illegal, yet with more papers and background checks that any immigrant in history, except others like me in the past 10 years. I would only be illegal because others are afraid of me and want to put restrictions on migration and nothing else. (I have cousins that are American just because my aunt decided to go live in the USA about 60 years ago, and nothing was required then, and they are legal).
Yet the place I work has a huge rotation with the US citizens, but they have had 0 rotation with foreigners. In the team I work for there are about 4 "natives" (hey that word is funny, it has nothing to be with legal status or nationality or length of stay, so native Americans are not necessary indigenous people if we are strict), three of those 4 are managers or "leaders", then there is one French, about 5 Indians and me (Mexican).
Why I am still here, two things, personal challenge and lower taxes.
And by the way, the continent is America (the US is just US not America0, so I am as American as those born in the USA, but lately we don't use that designation much, many negative connotations. Those born in the USA are "Gringos", including my kids, born here because I have health insurance here (even if some people don't like it). And yes, I send most of my income back to Mexico, why? Because there is no reason to leave it here, why buy a House here when I have my own in Mexico (well with the prices and rates as they are is tempting but not). Any day a bureaucrat is going to deny my visa renewal and I will be back to Mexico without being able to live in or even visit my house. Why invest or save here, there are better interets rates and exchange rates outside. I pay the taxes on time each year and try to be a good "resident" (not the legal definition of "resident") and endure my share of racism (when people know I am Mexican, because I am white, light haired and green eyes, so people don't suspect before hand).
Actually, WAR IS A GAME from mathematics point of view. (The outcome of such game are 99.99% of the time nasty, but that does not mean is not a game).
Have you heard about Game Theory?
Asimov already stated, in the prequels of the foundation, sequels to I robot (written much much latter than foundation or I robot), the earth is special because of internal radiation (both earth and solar system radiation, with emphasis on earth radiation). Is the cause of biological diversity and there are no alien civilizations.
And his novels have more science than most evolution,ID,GW,ET theories these days.
Nothing is holding me back. I read them on my old palm IIIc or my cell phone all the time. But only read non-DRM books. There are enough DRM free books to keep me busy for the next 10 years. I still buy dead-tree books from time to time.
Forking is not deriable, but has its advataches (using licenses like GPL).
What happens if a company goes out of business?
That does not happend with OS, and if forking ocurrs (not desirable, but if it happens), the worst think that can happen is that you will have more choices. In the log run one or more of the branches will continue and you continue with them.

Anti-monopolistic is not just to eliminate current monopolies, but to prevent creation of new monopolies and punish ANTI-COMPETITIVE practices.
>although I've only ever shot pellet guns, which are notorious for bad aim
Are you nuts or just use walmart pellet guns?
There are Olympic Air rifle competition. I bet walmart powder burners cannot keep up with those in accuracy.

Wow I knew pop music was bad for you, but never thought it was like cocaine.
Perhaps you are an expert on both and know.
I think pop music is legal and I have never seen it produce brain damage, but I have seen several with seizures and they say is dancing.
Do you think the same will happen with drugs. Will they stop being addictive the moment they are legalized?
Plus TOR.

Or is it because of the definition of legal?
With more retailers selling non-DRM MP3s, where should I buy?

In my old 600E (now property of my father in law) linux ran well. But without energy saving functions.

Maybe, golfers do play golf. While many NFL fans are just viewers.
Wow, that means financial troubles next year. Or as Garfield said: "It is incredible the things people have, instead of money"
I will just call Super Mario Bros.
