They aren't selling a defective product unless it has the "Compact Disk" logo on it. If it's not there, your cd player doesn't conform to their standards.
Music sharing is hardly illegal. In fact, by releasing copy protected CDs, that will just legitimize it even more. Consumers have a right to non-restricted playback of their music as well as a backup.
Adobe products use hardware acceleration, right? They don't even bother mentioning the video card, ram, or any other details about the computers. I think this is definitely a M$ payoff.

By May 30th, Office Depot will lose all their customers from the "slashdot" crowd. In other news, Microsoft takes over the world.:(
It depends on who is interested. If the FBI raid you, it's probably because the RIAA paid^H^H^H^Hasked them to 'investigate'. In that case, they don't have to prove anything. They just confiscate your computers, your legally owned cds.. anything they want, and you won't see it again. Unfortunately, there is no watchdog for this kind of thing.
If buying counterfeit cds/dvds leads to terrorism, why do they keep trying to shut down P2P networks? RIAA/MPAA/M$ are in league with the terrorists I'm afraid.:(
Finally, the annoying mouse hiccups will be gone. On slower machines, I never ran Linux because of this. Maybe we can use this on some more old labs now. Wonder what's going to be in the next M$ Halloween memo...
There is a package out there much more suited for this kind of thing. It's called vserver. It basically splits off sections of a machine, and allows them to only see whats in a certain section. It would be ideal for honeypts.
The reasons I like Star Wars books are fairly simple. First, the galaxy is huge! There are tons of planets to explore, things to do, etc. Second, the characters written by Lucas, as well as new ones by authors are great! The people make most of the universe, and without interesting characters, the universe will suck. One of the more interesting things in the Star Wars universe is that most of the characters are linked to eachother in a way. Just my thoughts.
The link is broken. *sigh* Must be another case of slashdotting :(

If you move into my spare room, I can't use it. That would be a loss on my part.
I know where I'm getting my next audio equipment from...
P2P is used for other things besides sharing music. Sharing music is not implicitly illegal.
This won't work on copy protected cds. :(

The lens could lead to amplified antennas, smaller cell phones and increased data storage on CD-ROMs.

Support your country, use P2P!
They probably started charging people to test the betas :|

I hope Apple doesn't get any ideas.. here comes DVD burners with teal lasers, tangerine lasers, and lasers, oh my.
Women are like Windows: You use it once, and realize there are far better replacements out there ;)
Why don't we patent the process of making stupid patents?
#> disable power.output !hospitals
telnet radar
#> redirect to root@army.mil
telnet allbiologicalweapons
#> detonate
I'm sure these things will just be conventiently plugged in to the internet.
This coming from someone who didn't know what a cue file was..
What about those billboards that change ads? Or even a TV? This patent is a bit too open ended.. Decorative value can mean a lot of things.
