    The obvious problem with that is the sheer amount of dirt that must be moved somewhere. Not to mention rock that must be broken etc. Just not ecomonically feasible.

    Gator's tactics border on criminal. I kept getting popups asking to install Gator's software and I continually say no. If someone keeps calling me on the phone, I can have my telco block the number. But there is no such service from ISP's at this time.

    You can always go into your hosts file (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc) and put in the line
    127.0.0.1 gator.com

    That'll kill most of it. From Gator anyway. (If you run Windows.)

    All that will lead to is someone putting one room on top of a elevator shaft and claiming the tallest building that way. People will find a way around the rules, so to make it fair they just said, "Fine we'll allow it."
    Besides everyone already does it anyway for antennas and such, so there isn't much of a extra of the "I've got an antenna and you don't! Nyah!" thing going on.

    I hold, because of the "amazing thermodynamics" and other inconsistencies, along with the kicker of Neo manipulating reality outside of the Matrix, that The Oracle's solution for making humans accept the matrix was to double layer it. Make humans think that they escaped the Matrix and they will no longer try, right? So the "real world" is really just a second layer in the Matrix. And the true use for humans is more than likely parallel processing on a huge scale.
    But then again I may be wrong.

    Absolutely, fining someone who's computer is out of date is like fining a construction worker who's hammer is breaking because of wear.

    You don't fine the construction worker. You get him a new hammer. Or fix it. By fining them you make it so that they cannot get new hammers and use the same old crappy ones.

    Isn't doing any monitoring whatsoever already in conflict with the constitution? Oh wait, damn, I'm sorry, I forgot about the Patriot Act.

    So W pretty much just said, "Well, we're in an economic crisis. Let's spend more, pass Patriot Act II, piss off everyone who doesn't act like cattle, and attempt to control the internet."

    Oh this is bound to work out well. -_-;;

    But why is the US doing this? Isn't the Internet an international thing? Shouldn't this be delegated to the UN.

    The thing is, everyone's mind set is "I'm going to keep that guyA out of office by voting for guyB." Or visa versa.
    So, the small parties aren't voted for, because no one thinks anyone's going to vote for them.
    In this nation people no longer vote for who they want. They vote against who they don't want.
    And THAT is the true enemy of democracy.

    I would really like more infomation on this, that article was incredibly short and left me with many questions. Mostly, how are the shock waves being broken up, and how would it affect the drag (ie, would it be a better design for watercraft also?)

    But then again, it is a government project, can't expect much in the way of information.

    The added fact that most skilled forgeries are identified by the depth of the pit in the paper (ie how hard you press down at certain points, you can imitate a shape but if you imitate it you're not doing it naturally and that shows in the patterns of heavy vs. light inking), and not by the shape of the writing, that makes the mouse signature doubly insecure. Any idiot can trace a pattern of pixels if they see it a few times.
