I have to differ from the review in that I found the handwriting recognition to be the best I'd ever used once it had been taught some of my more "eccentric" letter formations. Surely I can't be the only one?
As for the 770, love it to bits - although until IT2006 is released (Supposedly end Q2 now) it is definately a device for the slashdot reader (Though my girlfriend loves it to bits, I have difficulty getting it off her sometimes).
Remember DJ Danger Mouse, who made big waves in the music industry for his mashup of a Jay-Z's "Black Album" and the Beatles "White Album"? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grey_Album)
This reminds me of my favourite slashdot comment ever. I can't remember who wrote it, but it was on the topic of the third star-wars movie, and it's prequels:
"Episode One raped my childhood."
Whoever you are sir, thousands of geeks salute you for summing it up so succinctly.
In my imaginary version I wanted a real-life CTF situation based on paintball or similar that took place in a massive area full of buildings and the like - similar to normal paintball, but over a number of days and a much much larger playing field.
If you took the tech from this game and combined it with a much larger playing field, teams, a much longer game time (in the order of a weekend) and some form of decent forfeit for losing (say, a deposit), you'd have my perfect game!
Looks like Firefox/Mac might be supported someday

I've just been digging through the code and came across this in the variable declaration section of the player Javascript.

My dream for a long time has been a dumb-terminal bluetooth watch - Normally it acts as a watch, but when your bluetooth enabled mp3 player/laptop/phone connect, it acts as a dumb display/controller for them.
STOP CALLING THEM "LEGOS" ALREADY, IT'S "LEGO"

"The word LEGO® is a brand name and is very special to all of us in the LEGO Group Companies. We would sincerely like your help in keeping it special. Please always refer to our bricks as 'LEGO Bricks or Toys' and not 'LEGOS.' By doing so, you will be helping to protect and preserve a brand of which we are very proud and that stands for quality the world over. Thank you! Susan Williams, Consumer Services."

Have you SEEN the mono and VB runtimes recently?
"First of all OSS projects do not have enough money in order to actully condict a study on what the user thinks is best and 2nd if the gnome and gtk+ teams don't realize that software is written for the end user and NOT for the developer, both of these projects would stand no chance against any competition."
Go look at the usability testing Novell's been doing with Gnome - some OSS supporting companies actually have, you know, money.
I use 3D-Desktop on my laptop, and actually find it very useful when working
with 4+ desktops, as it allows you to zoom out and get your bearings easily...
I use bluetooth on a daily basis, and have yet to find a device that actually *required* you to be paired to transfer files.
You must be *discoverable*, but thats a very different thing - devices will just prompt you to accept a file if they aren't paired with your device.
Well, all except my girlfriends computer, which seems to accept files silently in the background...
However, it has always been my personal credo that it's "all about goto 10 loops". And frankly, I think that applies to all facets of life, not just BASIC programming.
I think you'll find thats called obsessive compulsive disorder.

It's him, under another pseudonym.

I've been wanting something like this for YEARS!

Gaim2 is having gaim-vv backported into it, so expect webcam support very soon.
Not a lot of stories either for that matter (still in my aggregator though).
Oooh pretty! Cheers for that tip :)

I just squirted beer out of my nose on reading #3, congrats.
Looks interesting, there's a blurb about it here:

Yeah, I've heard about that - there's supposed to be a firefox plugin that does the same thing. Really should track that down.... :D
I hear that IE has spelling and grammar checking in forms now!
