At the same time, doesn't googleTV do 1080P? the apple TV on the other hand only does 720P, and level 3.1 main profile h264 at lowish bitrates. no playing your blu-ray dumps, or anything like that.
Sounds like you are describing DLNA. Just the software you listed don't provide dlna servers. In fact i'm not sure that i would want that either. Simply a way for iTunes to add content to a dlna server. I'm not sure how this would all work with companies wanting to make my 55" computer monitor that happens to have ATSC/QAM tuner different than my 19" one without the tuner. So outputting netflix content via dlna provides no way to ensure that content isn't saved or otherwise "misused"...
Many samsung(at least) TVs already are DLNA renderers and i think they will take h264 content.
its that the ones without the "work" done seem to be in low stock 100% of the time. Considering how long a firmware update takes (~10 minutes) they could easily only do 10% of stock, and should they get low they could simply take a few out of the normal units...
i'm not sure, to update a PS3 its simply select the system update thingy on XMB, accept the TOS, wait for it to reboot. All of which can be done while you are eating a sandwich and drinking a beer(as long as it's you doing te eating and drinking and not the PS3.)
I mostly like microcenter for that. The boxes are the shipping boxes... inside that is te consumer box, and the whole lot is still sealed from the factory. Simply pick up a cheep DIY computer part before heading to the laptop section, and you get help with no sales pitch at all.
hmm a 1920x1200 LCD is what? $400? Can it be had in a decent physical size, say 17"-19" or only in the 30" behemoths?
Newegg has some, smallest physical size, 24", cheapest cost $290. I have a laptop here from 2000 that has a 9.8" screen with a resolution of 1280x768, the aspect ratio is 5:3. It's around 110 ppi(dpi) or so last i looked. Why can't i buy high dpi screens for desktop use. Toshiba recently released a 6.6" 1600x1200 screen for tablets, tink they will sell me one with the sap PPI but at say 19" widescreen?
I think they decided what the punitive damages for a single piece of spam would be, $100-$200, and multiplied by the number he sent out, 4.37 million messages. Seems pretty simple, he did 100-200 worth of damage 4.37 million times. It looks foolish, but on the other hand it doesn't.
The key here is "punitive" a way to make the dollar value go up to make it a deterrent. Like jail time, or loosing a limb, or... whatever for a crime.
only thing i ever need to add is an addition of ${HOME}/local/bin so i can keep my own scripts(or links to them) there and have them tab complete. As for distros for me, RH62 RH7.2,7.3,8,9 Suse8,9, gentoo, and i've dabbled with fedora and ubuntu/debian. but yea, most stuff just works now. man has it gotten a lot better in the last 10 years.
use gvim(a gui for editing files) to modify ~/.bash_profile to include "PATH="$PATH:/PATH/YOU/WANT/TO/ADD/"
for that mater "echo 'PATH=$PATH:/some/new/path/' >> ~/.bash_profile" on a command line does the same thing. Config files are easy to parse most are in the form of "var=value" it's easy in python, and doable in bash with arrays.
As for your intent, it's more that most are so easy to hand edit, that hand editing is the preferred method. As for finding where/how to modify PATH Google is your friend.
Thank you Mr. Pawlenty for your "no new taxes, but lets spend money on useless things while letting the road and bridges fall apart" stance, I really like what you have done to my state. Michigan has better roads than us....
not to mention she keeps moving around every time the districts are changed.... So she stays in the on with the people that elect her. It is really a small minority of Minnesotans that even like her, but with this whole district nonsense stuff...
*grumbles about IRV and choosing the top X candidates from the whole state*
does it run that card games CD that they bought out of the bin near the checkout lanes at walmart without fuss upon cd insertion? Really my grandma needs it to do that, and remembers OS6 -OS9 for the mac from her days of teaching so much that she refused to look at a mac when she wanted to upgrade her 7 year old laptop.
Now it also has to talk to 3rd part DLLs, so that i can use it to automate 3 vendor selection tools to fill out the answers on my spreadsheet that I'm using as my form and inputs. Can you show me where to buy autocad on any platform other than windows? how about solid works? ${RANDOM_VENDOR_SELECTION_TOOL}? It's not just a single company that can make the move, even if they could for all in house stuff, think of what you would hear on the phone if you asked, for a *nix version of a selection tool for the $40 widgets that you want to buy 6 of...

Amazon offers them for $1.08/foot and free shipping if you add in that new romance novel or two your wife/GF wants.
There are crimp-able hdmi ends?!! have a link?

Amazon, target, and www.sonystyle.com and newegg all sell PS3s. When did amazon or newegg start offering setup? or for that mater sony directly?
i'd like a pair of 17" at 1920x1080. would be sooo nice. Now if only vdpau would be thread safe so I could game and decode a video at the same time.
hmm most screens seem to be sold right around the 95dpi mark. You would have a point if the dpi of screens in the last 10 years had gone up.

Drive your car at 100MPH+ here in the states and see how long you get to keep your car if you do it a few times.
you mean like Nokia, Google, or Apple?
use python as your shell then... subprocess.call(foo) and such to your hearts content.
while they are at it, just port office and exchange to BSD and call it windows 8...

This is very odd for me to say, and support.....
Have a way to replace VBA in excel?

not the hardware, the content...
balance druids, shadow priests and mages all can kill you while you are flying, so don't worry.
no that was running the firewall, gateway, caching proxy, IDS, print server, and just about everything else.
Agree with that to, it's not safe.
