I wonder how well it would go over that, if you saved and walked away from a game, when you came back, it gave you one of those TV-esque 'Previously, on [game]...' intros (skip-able, of course).

I just don't understand the purpose of a high end gaming laptop. It's always quite more expensive than the equivalent desktop; and ultimately you're playing with a small screen, a cramped keyboard, and an imprecise pointing device, in a far less comfortable way... unless you plug the laptop to an external screen, keyboard, and mouse, so what was the point of a portable anyway?
The G5 came out in 2002; at the time, the best x86 was the Pentium 4 (and the "Itanic" had sunk). The Core line only came out in 2006, and Apple migrated that same year. So, the fair comparison is G5 vs P4.
