    Wiretaps require a warrant. Why would a computer be any different? I'm sure this has been settled in dozens of other cases, and will die quickly in appeal.

    This is incredible technology, The daisy chain gene drive though is about as hard core sci-fi as you can get. But genetics are essentially hyper complex software, and a lot can go wrong when jumping in on someone else's undocumented code.

    Microsoft's move to open source,and set free some very powerful programming tools, carries well into this story. Developers choose Java because it was believed to be free/open But as far as Oracle is concerned, it's not. I really do think .net core can fill this role now.

    Where Amazon and Microsoft at least know and cover the basics, and make a serious effort most companies haven't the resources, people, or expertise to keep their servers even remotely secure.

    If you are a supreme security expert perhaps 'you' could make a more secure system. Now ask yourself, how many third rate hacks think they are a supreme security expert, or worse how many companies don't even have that.

    Too many vulnerable routers without patches available. If someone came up with a way to plug the vulnerability by exploiting it, Kudos. I say leave it there unless you CAN patch it, then do that instead. If they later abuse it, then reset your router.

    Required should be no more than a handful of things unless you are willing to pay a kings ransom' Beneficial/Favorable can be a mile long. Also in tech the education requirement needs to ALWAYS have 'Or Equivalent' experience. Otherwise you will interview the the Doctorate who hasn't touched a computer in 10 years and ignoring the self taught whiz right out of the box. A handful of employers have skipped over me because I lack a degree as if a degree in technologies from 25 years ago would be beneficial in some way?
