It also teaches that you will be punished for crime, not that you should commit crimes (like some people are saying video games teach, which is bull#$*&) Although, I don't think that the manager of my local Kroger is level 11...
I have a CD that feature 8 Sega Genesis games on a CD-ROM. It is obviously emulated, due to the fact of the high (for such tasks) system requirements of it. (133 MHz processor, 16 MB RAM)
The Sega Genesis had (I think) an 8 MHz processor, and I don't know how much RAM. I have seen ports of classic games (Megaman X PC) that ran with relatively low system requirments. (Megaman X PC used about 20 MHz, 8 MB RAM) And, I think the SNES processor was about 16 MHz.
Back to my CD-ROM, the lead programmer has released (for free) the emulator used on that CD.
The emulator KGen. So emulating old systems commercially is not a new thing.
I really like 8-bit music, and I hope they didn't turn the music into some trashy remix-type junk, because this sounds really cool. (except for the updated music part)
Honestly. Trying to sue a game company for something like that is like accusing a mother for the murder of her teenage daughter who commited suicide right after she got mad at her for doing some little thing that she [her daughter] did all the time. I hate it when people try to slander videogames when someone does something stupid
after playing them.
Maybe Billy Gates is behind it trying to get stupid people to think that Windows is more secure
and better for a server than Linux, so that he'll
get more business.
I don't see how they would've stolen it...

Linux is an open-source project. Therefore, not funded by a bunch of people buying it. So where would they get the money to pay somebody to steal the code, anyway?
Brucey here sure has enough dough to make a decent security, unless, of course, it was to be penetrated by an elite ninja, like me, heh heh.
I just hate it when people say I don't get enough
socialization!(See, I'm home-schooled, and only 15) Well, anyway, I don't see anything in socializing with a bunch of people who are a good
deal below my intellect. (girls, in general) I would much rather sit down to a nice game of NetHack, and socialize with an oracle, who actually knows stuff that I don't. I love NetHack.
Anyone who can afford to throw a temper
tantrum over someone creating something better than unix must have his pockets too
full of money that he could be doing something useful with, like contributing to the
Open Source project, or contributing my charity
for underprivileged teens. (Who don't have computers, who need them ; ) )
I think it's time that certain of our congregation
stop slandering games and play NetHack for
a few hours and then pay me for giving them
such a great idea. Since all of you who hate
games will be needing my mailing address it is...
The NES was notorious (maybe I'm abusing that word) for hard games. Even with saved states on an NES emulator, even the simplest-type game (Chip and Dale: Rescue
Rangers) was a pretty hard game. Maybe
not super-cool like megaman, but still nice and hard. I mean, megaman 1 for the NES is
really hard. The other ones are
easier becuase of the password system, but
Megaman 1 really takes the cake as for difficulty with megaman games. Megaman 5
has a good difficulty level, I mean, the Protoman's fortress/Wily's fortress (Sorry about the spoilers for those of you who haven't played it!) stuff is hard stuff! But the 8 main bosses aren't too hard! That's a truly good difficulty level. Manageable to master in under
a matter of years, and , still a very nice challenge. The Graphics were way cool for the NES, too! And Music! Oh! That was the stuff!
And as for raising kids, that sound like the way
to go! Except for the rarity of the systems and
games....(but, there's always piracy...)
Nethack has a good level of difficulty. It's a game you actually need to think about, that real literature can help you with. A fortune cookie once told me that reading the Lord of the Rings would help me, and there is certain in Nethack that is helped by that book. Back
to difficulty, Nethack has a nice little option called "Explore Mode" where you can choose to die or not. Of course, you don't need that if you back up your save, but I learned a lot of stuff about the general architecture of
Nethack, creatures, armor, and such. Nethack
is much more than your average game, it's
a different episode if you will, each time. If your a gamer and you haven't played it,
play it!
Is there even a way to beat an online game?
No! I thought people played games so they could beat them! Except for Mario Brothers 1 for NES,
you know, they say that game's an infinite loop...
I, for one, welcome our new shiny 3D-game overlords!
I still won't play most of them, though, heh, heh.
Give me the SMS version any day. I prefer Bi-linear parallax scrolling to polygons for this game.
Even the Phoenix BIOS on my old 486 labels any disks as "A:" "C:" and so forth. And, it only lets you boot from C! Stupid M$....
It also teaches that you will be punished for crime,

Hook up his monitor to somebody else's computer, and vice versa.
I think that for Multimedia streaming and such Java is going to do the job a good deal easier than PHP.
That's like saying that you should pay taxes on monopoly money.
I didn't mean "not a new thing" What I meant is that there are other examples out there. Sorry.

I am glad to know the true story. I love Nethack.

It's a scroll of enchant weapon. :D
I don't know what a beatnik is, but I sure know how hard it is to get a job when you're only 15. If I could get a job I would have one.

Just the other day I was about to download the Return of the King, but there was a very large queue.

I really love SF2 Turbo. It is the best fighting game ever. But Nethack's good too...
Why does the G5 say "G4" on it?
