Driver's licenses are optional at the moment. Catch this quote from the article:
"This is a win-win. As long as people use driver's licenses to identify themselves for whatever reason there's no reason for those licenses to be easily counterfeited or tampered with." This is the government mandating only one form of identification, and mandating what it has to look like. If I don't want a driver's license, or get it suspended because I get a DUI, am I a terrorist?
Plus, anyone catch that? "As long as driver's licenses are the only form of ID, no one will counterfeit or tamper with driver's licenses." Yeah, right.
There is one caveat: Symantec counts only those security flaws that have been confirmed by the vendor. According to security monitoring company Secunia, there are 19 security issues that Microsoft still has to deal with for Internet Explorer, while there are only three for Firefox.
If more threats are being vender-confirmed for Mozilla, it means that the Mozilla group is owning up to their bugs and FIXING THEM. Microsoft patches once a month at most.
I don't know, I think Duck Hunt was pretty real. Don't tell me I'm the only one that used a treadmill as a trench and ducked behind it, shooting the ducks from behind cover.
So if I shoot you it's because I played Doom, and if I stab you it's because I play D&D. What about:
Fists and feet
Piano Wire
Strangulation/Suffocation
Drowning
Starvation
Food poisoning
I'm just out of high school, so let me try and answer. If you're trying to just to appeal to the geeks, and this I doubt, then almost anything will work. Think of what gets you excited. We would have jumped, for example, to get someone from Apache to come talk. But there were maybe 5 of us.
I assume you want to appeal to everyone. With that in mind, it has to be cool! The kids aren't afraid of learning a little science, but let's face it - lectures are boring. Anything that you'd stop and be amazed or interested by is probably a good bet. Explosions, rocketeering and such things can be interesting. Slip the physics or the chemistry or whatever on the side, but if it's visually impressing (in the way Mg + O -> MgO or giant explosions) you'll catch their attention, and that's enough.
"How many roads must a man walk down before he is a man?"
"I'm sorry, we were looking for, 'What is the answer to the question of Life, the University and Everything.' Mr. Beeblebrox, you remain in control of the board..."
Okay, their Chinese suck. But what they are saying is really funny: http://fireflychinese.home.att.net/. And sure, the accents of Niska and Badger are kinda comical, in a villain caricature-type way. But the subtle details, like the "ain't"s and the way Mal talks especially, provides a massive level of detail. Everytime you watch it, you see more and more details. It's a very rich show. Too bad the budget was almost nil, and Fox intervened and said, "No, Whedon, do it our way."
The movie is supposed to be darker, where every episode doesn't end in a hug and a happy moment, because everyone (read: Jayne) isn't always happy and getting along.
Did you start at the beginning? (Fox aired the pilot last). You're clearly in the minority though; everyone I've showed it to has said it was the best TV they'd ever seen. Good writing, excellent acting, believable characters.
I would doubt if that is the only reason. In an interview on fireflyfans.net, Kaylee (Jewel Staite) was saying that a few characters are making an abbreviated appearance because they couldn't get away from filming something else, and I wonder if this is not supposed to help that as well.
And according to all the cast members and Joss, this is supposed to be 100x better because of less constraints from Fox.
First off, IMDB lists it with a 2005 release, so one of them is mistaken: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0409459/
Also, no word yet on Alan Moore's take on things. The IMDB shows him still listed with writing credits for Watchmen, but then again it shows him with writing credits for League of Extraorindary Gentlemen and From Hell, and Alan wanted his name taken off those pieces of film, last I heard.
The cheapest possible rate they offer is $12.99/month for 6 months. I remember back when Evercrack was less than $10 a month for a similar package. Will they really keep it going with enough content to be worth that much? Most people I know that play MMOGs drop them after 2-3 months because they get boring.
So two things occur to me after RTFAing. First, their time-limited demo isn't that great because you can still build from the CVS sources. Sure it's a pain in the ass, but you can do it, especially if your computer is fast enough to be running the games anyway.
As an aside, I'm wondering why they're saying
to game publishers: "The Cedega Time Limited Demo gives you the opportunity to test your titles for free.". Shouldn't they be offering it to game devs for free anyway for better advertising? (IE: ID Games tested it and it works out of the box with Cedega).
I don't think it should be legal to concede. Screw checking out the voting machines, and have all the uncounted voters sue Kerry, Bush, and whomever else. By conceding the race and not counting those votes, it's effectively denying the right to vote for those individuals. This includes overseas (military and civilian), uncounted provisional votes, and absentee ballots. Every vote counts, so count every vote!
Yeah and a lot of modern technology came out of it. It's easy for someone to copy our current technology and just go to space. It's a lot more difficult to develop the technology and do it.
I can download and install Linux binaries, but that doesn't mean that you should never patch it again.
This has been up for 2 hours and 40 minutes, and there are less than 100 comments. It is the end of Slashdot.
(I'll probably get modded down for this too)
I seem to recall some sort of inane law (in the United States anyway, where most of them are inane), where you can't build your own Wi-Fi router/transmitter/re-transmitter, but if you manage to make it without building it, you can sell it.
It's not that simple. If your friends on Facebook add an application, that application's developer gets access to all your information.
already hear about this? This is old news. Microsoft is a little Dutch boy sticking his finger in a flood.
And suppose you are a good white Christian who hates all minorities, gays, Jews and Muslims? Should you be able to post THAT ad?

So in order to see the trailer and tell me friends, I have to admit I watched the OC? Shit.
The full series was broadcast on SkyOne in Europe first, and has been available on shuntv.net for quite some time.
So I take spam that I pay $400 for, and swap it out for spam I get for free. Sounds good.

Judging from everyone I've met that works in the tech industry, I'd have to say do other computer work.

At least Cthulhu says he's out to get you and everyone you know killed, and then goes out and does it!

Oh great. It's just like Linux vs BSD, except now it's Rogue vs Nethack. Ye gods, what have you done?!
