I picked up a tricked-out Dell XPS 17 laptop a few years back. It worked great until it stopped recognizing my genuine Dell PS (just outside of my warranty period too... which SUCKED). That in turn caused the thing to run at a REDUCED clock speed and REFUSED to charge the battery. After a bit of digging, it turns out that there is a 1-wire protocol between the PS and the laptop. If that goes down, you are left with a slow running, paperweight. Dell doesn't like you running after-market PS on their devices, but also screws legitimate customers because the engineering behind it sucks.
The thing that irritates me the most is that I *know* this is just a software check in the BIOS. If they would release an unlocked BIOS, I'd be good to go.
Needless to say, I've never bought another Dell since then. I've been extremely happy giving ASUS my business instead.
It's my body and I'll die if I want to,
die if I want to, DIE if I WANT to,
You would die to if it happened to YOUUUUUUUUU!
Seriously, though. If the patient wants to take the risk. Let them!
Similarly, I answered only question #1... just like I did back in 2000 when I got the "long" form. After which point, I was 'harassed' on a weekly basis by census workers that wanted me to divulge more information than I felt the US Constitution required I provide.
It really depends on what you are looking for. Are you wanting to index file names or do you want names and contents? For me, I typically know what I'm looking for based on file name, so Locate32 works out great. It's the Windows equivalent to 'slocate'.
Yes, I've noticed. I bought an Abit BF-6 and an Abit BE-6II at roughly the same time. They both died at roughly the same time due to the cap problem. That's when I learned my lesson and went on board with Asus. Their boards have been pretty good -- the biggest problem I have is finding the optional accessories that aren't included when buying a motherboard. Some of those parts seem downright impossible to obtain.
I think that the major problem with their launch is lack of marketing. I had heard a little bit about the PSP, but always assumed it was a miniature version of the Playstation. Wrong. It wasn't until after I downloaded a video of a guy showing his Japanese import off that I decided to buy one: video capabilities (MPEG-4), MP3 capabilities, 802.11b connectivity, and of course, the games sold me on it.
Anyhow, the guy that taught me the secret ways of gagdetry -- let's call him "Dad" -- came by tonight and I showed him a couple of movies I had encoded (Hellboy and Blade). He was extremely impressed I was able to get decent video running on the thing. The first thing he said was "How come I haven't heard of this before?!" I really think that Sony screwed the pooch on marketing the PSP.
The vocals in the UK theme are the Hindu Gayatri Mantra.

Alien Swarm came out for UT2004 on May 28. It's a class-based, overhead view mod that pits players against the Alien Swarm. This is a non-PvP mod -- cooperative play is a must! I gotta say, I can't believe I was able to download this for FREE, that's how good it is.

XMP FTW! I played that hell out of that. Unreal II. Meh. But XMP? OMG OMG OMG!

We'll see what happens this year.

Not quite circular enough. Let's have another go:
Abit suck, but Asus are good
Asus suck, but Gigabyte are good
Gigabyte suck, but MSI are good
MSI suck, but Abit are good

I think it should really be CIO. You need someone in charge of all of those tubes. I nominate Joe the Plumber.

If by 'sack' you mean "genital-carrying pouch", then, yes, I'd have to agree.
Let me guess: Tourette's Syndrome, right?

Bah! I should have gotten that link right. Here it is: UK vs US theme thread
Apparently the intro to the US version is different from the UK version:
