Most windows 98 users are not going to switch because of the announcement, most probably never even heard it.
For the most part, the people currently using windows 98 bought it preinstalled. Bought the applications they need, and are happy with that. Their next upgrade will occur when their current machine dies.
Several of my older friends will talk about upgrading to XP every once in a while, but never do, they do not want to buy an office suit, a card maker, genealogy programs etc all over again.
I have an Aunt, who is still happy using WFW 3.11, it runs her applications. The machine does all she needs.
US oil comes from Canada, Mexico and Venezuela, less then 10% from the middle east. Our allies England, France, Japan etc use oil from the The Middle East. We care about that oil because we care about them.
For whatever reason, the news media has always created the impression that we have supertankers lined up across the Pacific Ocean.
Maybe kiosk setups, file storage and personalization is stored in the phone. This way a inexpensive computer setups can be used by several people. Walk up to a kiosk insert phone, phone gets screened for viruses, you check your stuff do what you need to do. Each phone gets a certain time allotment. Kiosks designed to be cheap and give privacy. This way a old recycled PC and a phone cradle makes up 90% of the kiosk. The only thing the phone would need is the equivalent of a USB thumb drive.
How about just giving them USB thumb Drives? Oh wait, I'm sorry, that wouldn't sell much software, or make good headlines?
Or even freely available source code, but it does mean source code for everyone who gets a copy of the product. The product is DR DOS the only legal way to get a copy is to buy a copy. Once you do buy a copy then you will be entitled to the source code.
Missed the point? Zoom it flew by you! I guess you may be on something!!!!!!!!!!!!! The point is the person under the influence, is most likely to have poor judgement about its effects.
Like being more relaxed after a couple of alcoholic drinks make me a better driver? Everyone tends to think of themselves as the exception, that they are in control. In reality they are not, their judgment has diminished to the point, that they think they are actually better than before.
Interestingly, the word 'dragon' is used a number of times in the Old Testament. In most instances, the word dinosaur could substitute for dragon and it would fit very nicely. Dinosaurs were called dragons before the word dinosaur was invented in the 1800s. We would not expect to find the word dinosaur in Bibles like the Authorized Version (1611), as it was translated well before the word dinosaur was ever used.
Also, there are many very old history books in various libraries around the world that have detailed records of dragons and their encounters with people. Such as that of English King Morvidus. Surprisingly, many of these descriptions of dragons fit with how modern scientists would describe dinosaurs, even Tyrannosaurus.
Most Science is funded by corporations. US corporations are performing reshearch at a rate that is about 734% of the rest of the world. The News is a PR game.
The Linux trademark is simply being protected. For example, if you name your business, or try to trademark the name "Linux World" then you are asked to pay the fee. This fee is an acknowledgement that Linus owns the "Linux" trademark. This will allow the term "Linux" to stay open, and not be confused by someone's trademark of "Linux Smack Daddy LLC."
Or you can probably expect lower Math and Science grades. Computers can either be a tool or a diversion. Children usually prefer the diversion. Every child in enrolled public school 12th grade down to 4th grade gets a laptop where I live. After seeing the grades go down, several parents returned them. The poorer grades have caused a at least one high school to be placed on academic probation.
Insightful? The truth is you should always be aware of this: What you say, what you do, and what you write, if it can be used against you it will be used against you. Not only personally, but professionally. There are real long term effects. It does not matter which country you live in, these are facts.

Gentoo is the smoothest for upgrades.
Most of the time it is as simple as typing emerge -uD world;revdep-rebuild before going to sleep.
Money does not come from the users.
Money comes from enterprise products and support.
Looks like a mutated dog penis or some weird lipstick thing.
Why is this one treated diffrent?

Why do people think GPL=Free??
Office 2003 is preloaded at login. So office opens faster, but this is not without other costs.

Who are these Australiams anyway? The article is about US scientist working at:
The Wistar Institute

Philadelphia, PA 19104

I find the exact opposite problem. MS Office will hang and die on large doccuments, oo has no problem with.

However, in the case of Yahoo! the actual number of search results returned is only one-fifth the estimated total.
