Data can be moved from the iPod to the PC without any problem, in winxp all you need to do is enable the hidden file view and browse the iPods drive. It isn't even that deep into the file system. On a mac you can even boot from on iPod in firewire disk mode, or at least you could with iPods with FW connectors. I don't know if it works or is supported via usb.
Who in the world am I flaming here mods? The point of my post is to point out that using such a small data set to say that we are experiencing global warming is simply bad science, performed by people who have no business being part of the scientific community. Actually, when you read the opinions of true weather experts they agree with me, and only think the current temperature rise is part of a cyclical process.
Geez!
How is this interesting to anyone? I fail to understand people's pre-occupation with the weather. Everyone is under the impression that global warming is real and back up their claims with a data sample that is less then 200 years, which is an insanely small sample when you consider the age of the Earth. Climate changes, especially RADICAL climate changes occur over periods of time far greater then 200 years, and to say otherwise is ignorant. I really hope eventually the media stops ushering in the concept that the planet is in distress due to something as stupid as global warming.
schoolwebpages.com is a hosting company that hosts a lot of educational sites. They sell a service that lets absolutly anyone make a decent looking website with a few clicks and some text. The other site mentioned (the k12.oh.us address) points to the school division's own web server(or it was before the slashdotting).
No, they aren't in public beta, but usually by the time they reach that stage all the major design decisions have been long since made.
The current CTP of Vista released in early December is probably the 4th or 5th offical release that has more or less had the same GUI so I get the feeling that he won't have much of an impact on that.
Office 12 is considered to be pre-beta so its interface may still be up for discussion, however one of the major changes in this version is how menus and toolbars are grouped and arranged, and I doubt he had any input on that. If you haven't seen the release check out some screen shots, it is a radical departure from every previous version.
Why hire him now?? Why not before Vista and Office 12 are already in beta? I haven't had a ton of experience with Vista, but my beta verison of the new Office could have used his touch.
You can. You just have to create labels for each of the mailing lists then create a filter for each one under the Settings menu. Check the box that says "Skip Inbox" and check the box that says apply filter. Then it goes right into the virtual folder you want it to skipping the inbox completely. When you want to read it just click the label you are looking for and there it all is. Its very nice, but I still want to make my own folders on my servers.
No Pikiman or Pikiman 2? My girlfriend who HATES games with a passion(or maybe just hates me playing rather then spending time with her) loved both of these games so much I actually had to give them to her little sister to get them out of the house and away from her.
Isn't the ability to customize things to your own liking the main selling point of Linux based OSes? Mainstream Linux is going to end up being someone like RedHat or SuSe no matter how much better the little homegrown distros get because only those 2 offer anywhere near the support that a company is going to require.
Let distros split and evolve as much as they want, it increases the chance of major innovations being developed. When something useful comes out of one of the offshoots one of the major players will adapt it and support it.
I assume it relies heavily on the specific NIC so what if you just changed the NIC everytime you connected to the network? Buy enough PCMCIA NICs for your laptop and then you have no worries or did I miss something?
Ahh yes the oh so lucrative Mexican market that Microsoft and all other software companies have been trying to break into for years...Maybe this will finally turn the tide for Linux.
My parents and grandparents LOVE Yahoo. I am slowly moving my parents towards using Google, but there is just something comfortable about Yahoo that keeps them there. Not like it really matters though...
You would be surprised how much weight some of my users put into those little warnings XP gives you time and time again. Not that they pay any attention at all to what Internet Explorer or Firefox tell them though. I wish I knew why they don't put as much stock into those warnings.
Like previous posters have said it really adds no functionality to Firefox, but I guess it adds another endorsement to Firefox's already long list of supporters. If nothing else then all the diehard Yahoo fans will now be even more exposed to Firefox and may perhaps make the switch.
But what I really wonder is, what's in it for Yahoo? Is this a last attempt to be revitalize their popularity?
How long till the Slashbots come out in droves proclaiming M$ sucks and their spyware removal sucks and they should all go to hell because a trojan(more like a crappy little batch file) is able to disable their program.
Nevermind the fact that with the way this program works it would be just as effective on AdAware or SpyBot...and nevermind the fact that before running this trojan the MS spyware program TELLS YOU NOT TO!!
I am amazed you aren't being flamed to death yet here by the rabid linux zealots. damn I wish I had mod points right now. This is one of the MOST REALISTIC comments about the future of Linux I have ever read here...
OSX has about 6% of the desktop market share....on a good day. Now, I am typing this from a Mac and I do think that the % will grow over time, especially with the introduction of the Mac Mini, but 6% vs 90 some percent, which OS would you target?
It's necessary because Windows is the #1 most popular OS out there and there are far too many people who get excitment out of creating viruses and other little fun things.
If you were one of those people and wanted to see what you could do really do virus/trojan/spyware wise, then why on Earth would you attack something with less market share?
Ok, now while Apple is included in the PC Mag. survey in SOME areas the topic of this story is "Tech Support" which there are no scores mentioned for Apple. For a journalist you sure don't read things too carefully, maybe your tin foil hat or your Apple Fan Boy Reality distortion feild obscured your veiw of the link that YOU provided.
then why have it at all?

Can I come interview with you? I am trapped in a state run IT department that refuses to do anything outside of the Microsoft scope.

I am sure that their coders spend a lot of time down in tech support answering phones.

But now let us rejoin the gaming world reality with your host EA!!!

Of course sending all those songs to people wil cost you a pretty penny. Unless you just want to make a $1.50 each month.
