You do not own the movie/music/game you buy. You pay for the right to use. Essentially a limited non-transferable (is some cases) license. Which are most cases is specific to individual package.... i.e. if I own the star wars dvd's that does not give me the right to download the xvid versions.
It's bs, but that's how you can get the best-bang-for the buck if your a media company.
Everyone seems to forget that embryos are not the only sorce of stem cells.... bood from the ambylical cord contain stem cells, these cells are already being harvestead and used to treat spinal cord injuries.... as posted in this Slashdot Artical.
There is a big difference between the two, a designer works with marketing/Client to come up with a Nice looking site, graphics, flash and the like. Think of the designer as the GUI person.
The developer on the other hand is mostly interested in back-end programming of the site i.e. CC validation, shopping carts functionality and the such, bigger businesses have a clear cut distinction between the two. Seems to me that PHP and ASP/ASP.NET are the prominent backend systems for web servers (IIS/Apache). mySQL/msSQL are pretty much the standard DB systems out there. There are a number of other techs though - JSP/IBM's Domino server - ColdFusion ect...
HTML/JavaScript is pretty much a must for a designer and developer. If your looking to do more developing go with PHP/ASP(.net). It be good to learn some DB skills as well, don't worry too much about flash/shockwave/graphics ect, chances are unless your a 1-2 person teem your going to have a graphics/design person anyway. If your looking to be more of a designer - take graphics art classes, the software is not as important as an ability to come up with nice looking site. Trust me, design is not as easy as it looks.
A big hello to you guys, forward this to at least 11 people and see what happens on your screen. You will laugh your head off!!!!!!!!!!! If you forward it to 11 people a video comes on your screen. this works. I don't know how...but it works. Somehow, from the return path generated, you'll receive something, and IT IS FUNNY!!!
This is the coolest thing I have ever gotten. All you have to do is send it to 11 people and watch your screen. It is the funniest clip. I can't tell you what it is, but I was laughing so hard I almost fell off my chair!!! So, send it to those 11 people and watch.

Ok - I know it was wrong - but 15 years! come on, 2nd degree murder is right aroung the same Sentence for ILLINOIS, anyone else think that this is a bit much....
Yes, it's thinner - about 1% compared to earths sea level. but it has wind never-the-less... Every so often powerfull wind storms powered by the sun on mars pickup so much dust that most of the serface becomes obscured. More info: here
First off, I do not have an x-box - and most likly never will - I'll stick with PC...
Nevertheless anyone should be able to mod an x-box and use this on the Live network - why not? It's the software that should not be modified/patched/etc... Lock down the directX drivers and Game files - once thease are locked down you'll not see cheets/hacks/ect... who cares if someone modded the x-box to double as a toaster?
smart... so now they are ready to launch a new marketing campaign about how linux and open-source in general does not stand behind it's customers and how the poor customer does not know what they are getting into while MS will defend it's loyal customers...
It seems that this ground-based device is "temporary"... does this mean the the DOS is only active while the radio "beam" is activly engaged on the SAT. Would this mean that only geo-sync sats could be targeted 100% of the time, and others would be Off-line only when in the line of site...
Once had a script that renderd a bunch of large tables (It was a report) - Had the end-table in the wrong spot that made the page look like it had 1000's of nested tables... IE when rendering the page would eat up TONS of RAM and eventualy ither crash or lock up the system......
"Under the mag-beam concept, a space-based station would generate a stream of magnetized ions that would interact with a magnetic sail on a spacecraft and propel it through the solar system at high speeds that increase with the size of the plasma beam. Winglee estimates that a control nozzle 32 meters wide would generate a plasma beam capable of propelling a spacecraft at 11.7 kilometers per second."
Would not it also push the space-based station the other way? The whole action-equal-reaction thing they teach in physics?
I could see this happening to a game that does not have such a high demand/ratings for
- i.e. Company A spends 2 years on a new game - It's full of bugs and is not getting any good reviews - a flop. they leek it. Then turn around and claim that the leeked version killed their profits and write it off come tax season.
