Why is this a troll? it's true. Any time someone bashes MS, it's marked as 'informative' or 'funny' But heaven forbid someone bash Apple, or Linux, and they get modded as a 'troll', or 'flamebait'...
4) This guy was probably just out having some fun. He managed to stop it before he killed himself by hitting a toll booth. I don't believe one word of it.
I agree. He eventually stopped the car by pressing the pedal hard enough. Why couldn't he press it hard enough 1 hour ago????
Go watch The matrix on your 30" 4:3 tube tv, then come over to my place and watch it on my 43" 16:9 DLP You'll see where the difference is. I got my big ass tv for my DVD's I'm a movie buff. I could care less about Joey or other brainless broadcasts, in fact i don't even have cable. just an antenna to watch the news on occasion.
Agreed When i went to buy a new TV for my bachler pad, it look me about 10 seconds to change my mind about LCD when I saw the DLP next to it. The picture is better, it costs less, and in 5000 hours of viewing, will only cost a couple hundred dollars to replace the bulb, as oposed to having to replace the whole LCD. It's a Samsung 43" DLP/HDTV ready unit.
The only advantage about LCD is the thickness, or lack of. but the bigger units are still heavy
The advantage that Apollo 13 had was that they knew there was a problem from the get-go. Where as on the Shuttle, they didn't know there was a problem untill too late.
I listen to Vivaldi, Bach, YoYoMa, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky among others. Does that mean I'm due for a job promotion to CIO/IT Director? But I also listen to AC/DC, Public Enemy, Kid Rock, Beasty Boys, M&M as well as Sarah Brightman, Enya, Beach Boys, Alabama. So I guess I don't fit anywhere...
Like it or not, MS still has a strong hold on the corporate enviroment. While I think it's a good thing that Dell is going this route, it'll only have marginally decent results.
Interesting point. I think people are relying too much on e-mail and IM to communicate. Now with Wi-Fi everywhere, people will be sitting alone tapping on their keyboard everywhere. On top of that, people are working longer hours, and IMO getting less work done. I have yet to meet a person who has actually gotten any real work done sitting at a coffee shop. I know, I know, you work all the time in coffee shops, but I haven't met you yet... Why must we now have to introduce another way of distraction to places where people are accustomed to relaxing?..
What about the commuter that wants to take a nap on the train after a hard day's work. Does he now have to st there listening to you tap on the keyboard as you vainly try to finish an Excel speadsheet.
As a whole, i think it's not a great thing that Wi-Fi is everywhere.
Actually, let me add that we do use a DVD Jukebox for long term archive purposes (SEC requires us to keep e-mails for 7 years) But our nightly and weekly backups are on tape.
I've actually seen 3 Shell gas stations on the same block. None of them where hard to get to from the main street. it seems that when Shell bought out Texaco, there were several Texacos next to Shells...
Since the question was Which 'PC related' magazines does the Slashdot crowd read? I can't really comment. I don't do to much off-line reading about tech. the problem is that it changes so much, by the time you get the magazine, what you're reading is out of date...
But i do keep my car and photography magazines around.
True that. I don't know how it is in Sweden, but you'll never find that much room in the US. And while I'm at it, this tech has been around for awhile. Show us something different to amuse us...
Actually it does work. After all the people I sent it to, I was averaging ~$385 a person i sent it to. How do you think I can afford all those video cards that come out every month?
The last place i worked at, in the contract said that anything I created for the company was their property. I'm 100% positive that Time-Warner has a similiar clause in theirs. If I do something that doubles the companies inclome, I don't get anything for it, unless it stipulates that in the contract.
You can 'fill up' in under 5 minutes
there are enough stations to be able to drive anywhere with out having to plan where you have to stop market to more than just comuters have a range of at least 200 miles have a high enough top speed to be able to drive on the highway
Do these, and I'd buy one. Until then, I'll keep my hybrid Civic

Could be worse. it could be Real Player...

They are not saying that the beverage will get to 30*f, but will be reduced in temperature by 30*f

Never thought I'd say this, but: RTFA...

We're still using tape back up, and will continue to do so. It works.
Never mind, they want 15gb iPods. i guess I should read the article...
You can get 1st generation iPods off of eBay for ~$20

If you wait a couple of months after it's release, you can probably save 50%. It's just another graphics car that will be outdated in a few months.
