No kidding... Not to mention their marketing department didn't quite get the Star Trek based code names they were using... Half their material for "warp" looked more like bad acid trip kind of warp than "warp speed". And I have a poster somewhere from IBM that says OS/2 will "obliterate your work". Really... I don't think they "got it" at all...
This would be more interesting if it was also correlated with sales... Some things that aren't answered by the numbers in the article could indicate that a well reviewed game has higher sales, too. For instance, what if pirated downloads of those were a smaller percentage of sales than with less well reviewed games?
Just showing the review scores and the number of downloads is too far from a complete picture...
Then there was a shake up and we got a new manager of engineering and all that time and money went down the drain as we stayed with C++ for that software. Just sayin'.
So, are you saying there's a problem with.NET, that it's a failure? Or that your company's new manager of engineering simply wanted to make his or her expensive mark on the company?
Well, my Dad just mailed me my 20 year old stereo a couple of weeks ago (after ten years overseas, I didn't return to the part of the country I lived in before)... And it sounds like pure shit...
A nice, Carver integrated amp that used to sound beautiful. Now sounds like ten years of storage in the damp, salty air of the Oregon coast didn't leave it unscathed... Buzzz.... Hummmm.... Lots of crackle from the speakers when turning any of the knobs on it... Visible corrosion on the line in connectors... Probably more inside, judging by the sound...
*sigh*
But it still sounds nicer than the B & W desktop computer speakers I've been using for the last ten months, so I guess it could be worse...
In some places they do... I'm in New York and my Amazon orders certainly do have New York sales tax added. Bummer my Oregon state billing address doesn't override that... But oh well, that's just one of the costs of living in New York City...
Why? The Nook is from Barnes and Noble, this story is about Borders.
And that could be part of the problem... The two stores are awfully difficult to distinguish... I certainly have trouble. I know where the locations for a few are, but remembering which is which is hard. Even inside they're mostly pretty similar. If one closes, then I can carry one less loyalty card in my wallet. More convenient for me...
From what I could tell, she had a healthy stack of five dollar bills, so apparently, a concept of a difference of five was too complex.
Did you communicate with her that you were expecting to a five dollar bill back? Or just assuming that she would do that simply because she had what looked like enough? Since it sounds like you probably gave her a 10 and two 1's, she already had part of your $5 change in her hands, so it could've been more work for her to put those in the drawer and then get a bill out of the $5 space, than to simply yank three $1 bills out, and not put more bills back in.
Why are phones, particularly the VM box that is more or less an automatic part of today's cell phone, so damn vulnerable?
Probably the trade-off between security and convenience... Not enough paying customers have yet to demand increased security on it, or canceled their accounts because of the lack of it...
Shame on you. Frankenstein's Monster. Frankenstein is the Doctor's name. He was brought to life in the traditional manner.
I'll admit, it's been a couple of decades since I read Frankenstein but do we know that Dr. Frankenstein was brought to life in the traditional manner? Did Shelley specify that, or is it just an assumption because of not mentioning he was brought to life in any other manner?
...didn't realize... So... you missed all the clips and previews, then?
Actually, I always try to miss all the clips and previews for any movie I'm vaguely interested in watching. They're so much more enjoyable going in with minimal expectations. And the previews usually give away too much, not enough that while watching the preview you know what's going to happen, but when watching the movie itself, having seen the previews, they've given you too much of a look into the later parts of the movie.
I avoid watching previews if I can, and if I've seen a preview, avoid watching the movie for a few years, until the I've forgotten what I saw.
I think part of it is whether or not the patient is qualified to review the doctor... Doctors get years of specialized training, but as a patient with none, what if I think my doctor sucks because he or she didn't prescribe medicine to make me numb right away.
The doctor should, and very well may be, using their best judgement for my treatment, and they could be making the right decisions, something that'll help me, but won't make me feel immediately feel better.
Or if I go with the wrong expectations, that the doctor will give me some drug I read about on the internet, but the doctor's opinion is that that's not the right medication for me. Do I give them a bad review because my expectations and knowledge were wrong?
If it can tell if someone is awake or asleep it should have wider application in workplace uniforms.
Will the chairperson in meetings have a console with the data? That way they can tell a boring speaker to shut up, they've put all the participants to sleep...
America has plenty of people with guns, and hunters in America are so effective that we need to pass laws to prevent them from killing off all the wildlife in the country.
But one key difference is that most of the hunters aren't experienced at shooting things that are attacking and fighting back. Most shoot wildlife that's either oblivious to their presence or running away.
Not the burger, but I don't blame you for not eating the others... I've seen and smelled Mac & Cheese, and that'll never pass my lips if I can help it... Ick!
And a BLT, no, the parts might be fine, but altogether it just sounds like a bunch of incompatible components. Besides, I don't care much for lettuce.
For anyone not familiar with a true northern fish and chips, there's a reason it's not served at any Michelin starred restaurants.
Why's that? Because the Michelin people simply don't know good food?
I sure enjoyed the fish & chips in England when I had some business trips there. I don't know northern vs. southern style, of course, but it was all delicious no matter what shape it was, whether it was on a porcelain or wrapped in newspaper...
Now I've moved to Brooklyn, New York City, and there's a British-style chippy just two blocks from my apartment... The shandy sucks, but the fish & chips with mushy peas rock!
Strange... I'm an American and I wasn't overweight when I was in the U.S., eating hamburgers and things... It was when I went to India for ten years, eating rich, greasy Indian foods that I ballooned out till I can't bend down to tie my shoe laces without huffing and puffing and being out of breath...
Now that I'm back in the U.S. again and eating a fairly typical American diet, I'm finally losing some of that excess poundage...
I thought it was interesting that he didn't destroy those drives after using them.
Maybe he expected that after he was successful and took over the world he'd have an archive of his communications to put in the equivalent of the presidential archives. Or planned on writing his memoirs when he got old, rich and famous...
... If so, would be interesting to see what they bring forth instead.
Dunno, maybe they'll switch to Forth as their language... That'd be pretty cool...
...OS/2 Warp ... but IBM screwed the pooch...
No kidding... Not to mention their marketing department didn't quite get the Star Trek based code names they were using... There's a big problem with polymer notes that should have been forseen by the Mint.
You can't light a cigar with a hundred dollar bill without passing out from the fumes.
So instead of switching from paper to polymer, they should be switching to hemp...

Any student who would think that ... has no idea what prison is like.
Exactly... And that's part of the point of trying to give them a good education, so they never have to get a first hand idea of what prison is like...
Or if young men who are obese have the higher odds of getting married than thinner peers.
Well, damn, that would make life a hell of a lot more interesting!

He should have said that Windows is conducting enhanced interrogations on users.
"They didn't even ask me any questions..."
The trick is to keep your electronics just out of reach.
... And your partner within reach... Extra motivation not to get out of bed in the morning...
