Right and I agree with everything you wrote, but I feel film is usually a compromise between art and commerce. You need big bad characters. You need melodrama. You need explosions. You need simple archtypes. etc. Movies arent usually profitable without these things and Hollywood knows it. Thats why I avoid movies or walk in with a very, very low set of expectations.

I think the economy of scale determines the artist's flexibility. Big Budget Movies: low. Books: better. Comics: good. Self-produced/published: excellent. The amount of expected profit and initual investment really determines how original something can be. This is also why early sci-fi was so damn original. No one expected to sell very many books and the authors just gave in to their ideas and produced some incredible stuff. As the genre became more popular and more profitable, people stopped taking chances, and it all culminates with a cut and paste storyline fitted into a new summer blockbuster every year. Or another movie based on a comic, because originality still exists in comic books now and again.

Some smart ass vandal covered it in white paint. So I called the number on the machine. Unlike calling any city services a human answered the phone, called me sir, and told me to just park and if I got a ticket they have it logged in their database that the machine was defective. Haha, imagine service like that from the city!

Some things are better privatized. The city had no incentive to take credit cards and shopkeepers have no incentive to give away quarters. In fact, the city has a huge disincentive to taking credit cards: the more people without quarters the more tickets written. The corrupt city officals and corrupt unions that run the city couldnt give a shit about fixing the meter system until their own corruption led to them being unprofitable.

As far as batteries go, Ive yet to see a dead machine and considering they all have solar panels on their tops, its unlikely to see one very often. I dont mind paying a little more for better service and credit card support. If anything this proves to me that the internet's ability to being out childish whiners in people is infinite.

For a person as private as Jobs, who shuns any publicity about his family life, this seems credible. If so, however, this would make Jobs virtually unique among moguls. Richard Jolly, chairman of Giving USA Foundation, said not all billionaires give their money away, but a lot do, and most do not do it quietly.

"We see it over and over again," he said. "Very wealthy individuals do support the organizations and institutions they believe in."

We have to remember that this missing 5-10% doesn't necessarily constitute a threat... It constitutes bits and pieces of a weapons program which in its totality doesn't amount to much, but which is still prohibited... We can't give Iraq a clean bill of health, therefore we can't close the book on their weapons of mass destruction. But simultaneously, we can't reasonably talk about Iraqi non-compliance as representing a de-facto retention of a prohibited capacity worthy of war. (page 28)
