This line of thinking could sure help Facebook's stock value.
Uhm... no. The more that Facebook is seen as something that you need to do (institutionalization) instead of something you do because it is cool, the less cool it will be. In fact this line of thinking may even make it cool to 'rebel' against the establishment (Facebook). This is how these social networking sites die. The cool kids leave first, everyone else follows soon after.
He checked the terms of use and found no restrictions against installing software, spyware or otherwise.
I was going to post about spyware being illegal or something like that, but then I remembered that corporations are spying on us all of the time.
Where the fuck is the government institution that I can call to go and raid their residences and offices? Oh yeah, I forgot: in our new Corporatocracy I am an ant, and they are giants.
Ants sometimes get stepped on; nobody really gives a fuck.
You interpret it as flamebait because you believe that it presents an argument against AGW.
No. He interprets the news article as flamebait probably based on these lines from it:
IPCC has got it all wrong, say boffins...
Needless to say, prominent alarmist scientists and the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) have not taken this view...
The author of the news article calls the scientists who comes up with a study he likes 'boffins', and the other scientists (who are also doing sound science) who he disagrees with 'alarmist'.
It hasn't been funny for a while. The law enforcement class is becoming a separate body from the average citizen class. (I know this through personally speaking with a friend who is a law enforcement officer, he has changed in a way that separates him from the way your average person thinks. It has made him paranoid of your average person.) It is becoming more of an enforcing arm of the aristocracy, bringing in funds for the state and prisoners for the aristocratic owners of the private prisons. If things keep heading down this path I fear they are going to get seriously out of control. I wish the ruling class could see this, and had the will to do something about if before that happens (because god damn, voting doesn't seem to do anything anymore). I don't want to live in those kinds of "interesting times".
Please don't use the words religion and scientology in the same article.
Yeah, because the difference is that one was a bunch of jibberish written by some crazy asshole that a bunch of people believe, and the other is Scientology.
It's not like the church you think doesn't need quotes is any more valid than this 'church' which you think needs quotes.
Well see, if you go to a 'church' you believe in silly things like Xenu dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of his people to Earth in a DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and killed them using hydrogen bombs.
But if you go to a church, you believe in completely unsilly and credible things like a god who created us to worship him, but is really going to throw most of us into a burning lake of fire to be tortured for ever and ever because he loves us unconditionally, and well... He really tried to prevent this from happening by lovingly being born of a virgin so he could sacrifice himself to himself so that we could be forgiven for our sins against him (which we've all comitted because someone ate a forbidden fruit a long time ago), and the he tried warn us by sending all kinds of really sane, down to earth people to tell us that this was going to happen. Oh, and no trace of him has ever been found. You believe all of this because other people told you, so it must be true.
Give more tax cuts to billionaires, so that they can start some more companies that will use the pure science to make some cool products and make some money - which creates jobs and does other good stuff.
My sarcasm detector seems to be malfunctioning, because I cannot detect any in your post.
"The in-vehicle eCall system uses 911 emergency call technology to alert the police automatically to the location of the smell of marijuana. This should aid in the war on drugs and reduce terrorism by enabling qualified and equipped homeland security agents to get to the scene within the "golden hour" of the first toke, says the resolution. The eCall system could save up to 2,500 politicians jobs a year and reduce corruption inquiries by 10 to 15%, it adds."
I love bigoted left wing comments, which take the crack pot right wingers and assume that's the majority.
It's the same argument as with the muslims: if you don't want the extreme element of your organization to represent you, you should try being a little more vocal in your opposition when they spew their shit.
You can't easily interchange ARM and Thumb without making a function call.
ARMs weakness lies in the ELBOW implementation. Whereas Thumb is opposable to 4finGer which some see as a strength, but I find that the pinKey shadow architecture complements Thumb nicely with hAnd holding the whole set together in a CRISP burrito.
The British seem to be the people least likely to get upset over their privacy being taken away. Their government has been taking away their privacy for years, and yet you really never hear a peep from the general populace. One can only conclude that they really don't give a shit.
I think a better analogy is the power grid. System hits a peak, one line goes down, others try to compensate becoming overloaded, another can't handle the load and goes down, and behold: cascading failures.
I'm not as worried about the existence of the cameras as I am that lots of people seem to know whose they are and no one's telling.
Don't you worry your little head Citizen. They are only there to catch the Drug-Pushing-Pedophile-Terrorist-Atheists. Just Think Of The Children. Do you Hate 'Merica?!
You and your nasty freedom hating FOIA requests. You probably stick your dick in Mom's Apple Pie!
You're an idiot if you can't understand why censorship exists and what benefits (not just the costs) it brings.
So... I'm an idiot I guess. I understand why it exists, but I do not know of any benefits that it brings. Please enlighten me. Really, show why you think that. Seriously, not just your opinion, but some cold hard facts. Yes, I'm asking for a response.

If you're a first time entrepreneur ... you're gonna get raped.
By someone named Gold Man-Sacs no less!
Let's see, names for our new "financial business":

Total we have more than a 1000 fake accounts between us.
And this my friends, is just one of the reasons why you'd have to be a total fucking nutjob to own FB. How do you know what the real numbers are?
You interpret it as flamebait because you believe that it presents an argument against AGW.

... but you have revealed your own bias.
Indeed.
Please don't comment on things you know nothing about.
Yeah, because that would lead to anarchy!
I'll be here all week.

Which is to say if the progress is positive. Sorry if I didn't read that right. :-(
My wife, when in the process of being diagnosed with Alzheimers...
I just want to say (even though I don't know you) that I'm really sorry to hear that. I wish you all the best, and I hope that her progress continues.
...he means the freedom of corporations to decide who gets to speak and what they get to say on the Internet.
Well, Verizon did just say that net neutrality laws violate their freedom of speech, so maybe this is what he means when he says "internet freedom".

...you won't be able to tell the difference between a gesticulating drunken bum, and a drunken, gesticulating businessman.
One is a babbling idiot, the other is homeless.
It got a byte to eat.
Word!
Google Employee #2(Bob): But isn't our motto 'Do no Evil'?
Joe: Bob, does your wife know where you were last night? We do Bob, WE do.

Why aren't their riots in the streets over this?

The best way to avoid making mistakes is not doing anything at all.
A guy at my work has a good safety slogan: Nobody moves, nobody gets hurt.
A better analogy would be the airline industry.
