Mod parent up. This is exactly why Satellite will continue to have a market. Thousands of truckers and commuters rely on Satellite for their source of entertainment and news. I'm really not sure why/. keeps posting these doomsday stories about Sirius/XM. Is Clearchannel submitting these or what?
If it's in public someone can still take pictures of your kids and it will be completely legal. Silly shutter sound or not. If anything, that sound is just going to anger you into doing something excessive. Then not only does someone have pictures of your kids, you get to go to jail to.
It may be easier to just replace the sound file for the click-noise with a file containing silence.
I did something similar with my RAZR for the count down picture function. In stead of playing goofy music I've got it counting down (spoken) from 10 (or 5 depending on the preference) to zero. So you actually know when the picture is being taken.
This law would have no effect on anything that was actually trying to take sneaky pictures.
Lets see, I've had service since 01/07/2006. So that's roughly 35 months times $13 (normal monthly fee) equals $455. Lifetime subscription costs $500, so I actually need to wait another 4 months to break even. On the other hand, I haven't had the hassle of monthly payments all this time. Nor do I feel guilty if I don't listen for awhile, etc. It's just nice not having another bill to pay.
I assume they still offer it. I ordered via the website and it wasn't there with the normal options. I had to click to a page 2 or something. They may have changed the layout since then though. Might be easier to just call them and ask.
Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't sure what the technicalities were but I know I've passed under many objects without issue.
What I do know is there are 3 satellites. But I think only two are ever north of the equator at any given time. And supposedly they were going to launch a 4th in 2008 but I've heard no news of this ever happening. They also have ground based repeaters around some cities to eliminate problems with buildings and such blocking signal.
As a developer this is great news. Even if it means something will run slow, at least I don't have to worry about support not being there at all. This means every Windows7 machine will support DirectX10. It's a step in the right direction.
Ditto. I was in San Diego when I got Sirius. I was sick of hearing the same 10 songs over and over on every FM channel. Plus I'm a fan of both Stern and Bubba. I listen daily. And when I'm somewhere without line of sight to the sky, I stream Sirius from their website.
I bought a lifetime subscription. I now pay Nothing for the service. So for me there is no way FM can compete. There's is not cost issue. I'll listen to whichever has the best content.
As for ipods.. Those don't ever play anything new. Those don't play live talk shows. Those don't play sports, weather, BBC Radio, etc, etc..
I agree with you there. Bubba hardly even get's any airplay. What is it like once in the morning and that it? They replay Stern like crazy and Farell (who ought to be on one of the Sports channels).. I never get to hear Bubba! And as you said, those guys are underpaid!
I love the service but it'd be nice if they could sort out how they're handling the talent.
Actually it does but I forget the details. I think it has to be before 6 hours in an 8 hour shift but I could be wrong. Your also required two 10 breaks. These are not required to be paid breaks although most employers pay you anyway.
Again this is in the state of CA. Also, this stuff does not apply to IT positions and several others. If your sitting on your ass all day then no, you are not entitled to all of this stuff.
And then I say, "Sure I'll get right on it once I'm clocked in." If they have a problem with that I'm happy to remind them of CA state laws. It is illegal to make an employee work off the clock. It is illegal to not provide a 30-minute or longer meal time during a shift which is 6 hours or more.
It's not that it can't handle them. It's more or a storage issue. A DVD can only hold so much. And if it's a downloadable game then there's concern about downloads taking forever. Lately, TV resolutions (even HD) aren't as high as a gaming PC's display. So it'd be pointless for a console to have super high resolution textures.
I had the same exact problems when I upgraded my XP machine to SP3. This was actually covered here already. There's some network stuff SP3/Vista does that's new to Windows and cheap routers fail to handle it correctly.
I just replaced my garbage Trendnet router last week for this reason. Got a Linksys WRT54GL with DD-WRT and couldn't be more happy!
I've been using one of these for years. It's great to type on and you can position the number pad on the left if you wish so it's out of the way of the mouse. In FPS I use arrow keys to move and no.pad for weapons. With this keyboard I can position my movement hand and mouse hand equally apart... damn now I gotta play some Quake3 (got to be ready for Quake Live afterall)...
The game Driver for Wii has NY modeled out quite well. I've never been to the actual city so I can't say how accurate it is but it seems pretty close for a video game. Happy drive-bys!
I disagree. The original DOOM gameplay had many many many monsters attacking you all at the same time. Everything moved at a faster pace. It was much more of a twitch game. DOOM3 was nothing like that, complete opposite really.

The Internet Channel was free for a limited time. I think the first year or so that it was out. There is indeed a fee for it now.
Oh, I didn't know that :P
Why was this modded Troll?
Sorry I'm having trouble understand you. Half of your post was filtered.

Why? I've already gotten my money's worth.
I guess XM's radio's suck. Never had problems like that with Sirius.

The radio has a buffer so that passing under such objects has no effect on the service unless you park your vehicle there.
Or Smiles for the iPhone?

Give the Comfort Keyboard a try: http://comfortkeyboard.com/keyboards_ergoflex.html

I've got a Dinovo Edge for my HTPC as well and couldn't be happier! It works from anywhere in my home and looks sexy as hell. Worth the high price!

So this is Sony's answer to Nintendo's new Nintendo Channel which offers news, interviews, demos, videos etc all for free?
