Insightful comment, there is no difference. Also, it has happened in some dense urban areas. Car ownership will drop when alternatives are more appealing.
We already know converting transportation into a government-granted monopoly is a terrible idea. The trend for a long time has been to reverse awful decisions like that. Stop supporting Uber and Lyft.
How many people "program" is irrelevant. A computer is capable of building software, including the software that forms the computer itself. That's one of the many things a computer does that an iPad doesn't do.
You are confusing your own ignorance for someone else's arrogance. Get some reading comprehension.
"My father-in-law (in his 80's) had never used a computer in his life, he uses an iPad daily, it does all the things he wants/needs."
"An iPad is so much more useful than my first "computer", a TRS-80 model 1, back when they were new."
Funny how you seem to know inherently the difference between an iPad and a computer yet want to argue the opposite. Perhaps that's because you want to confuse "want to do" or "what is useful" with what a device is capable of.
At your age, no reason to expect you will ever learn.
"It has a processor, memory, operating system, drive... sound like a computer?"
It sounds like a microwave oven.
Perhaps you need to get yourself a viable definition of computer before you go "telling" people what it is. You can start by avoiding definitions that fail to rule out the thermostat on your wall.
"Unless there is a single wireless standard and codec, nothing will be better than the old trusty 3.5mm connector, "
False choice. There are wired options other than 3.5mm that offer compelling benefits. 3.5mm itself is just an inferior version of the ¼" headphone jack, after all.
"But because of our broken patent system, Apple was able to get a patent for it because they were the first to apply for an obvious idea implemented in software. "
If a patent was granted then the test for obviousness did not yield results consistent with your uninformed opinion. Furthermore, what you've described would not be a patent of a "slightly underdamped second order system" nor is there any reason to believe that's now it's implemented or that it's important. I bet you think you sound smart though.
"Apple could patent a certain implementation of a bounce characteristic to iPhones..."...but doing so would have no value to Apple because it could not yield infringement beyond iPhones. You know less about patents than you think.
They haven't improved significantly over the "last several years", much less dramatically. A "decade" and "several" are different things. Furthermore, "better that the ones we have today" is a given. Yes, they keep getting better, slowly. There needs to be a breakthrough in charge speed, not just incremental improvements every few years, like what has happened recently, and we need to have the infrastructure to charge them or else they will be worthless.
"Well except that Intel pays NVidia licence fees whereas the AMD Intel patent licensing agreement is completely one sided - AMD pays Intel but Intel gets IP rights to anything AMD invents for free."
What a gross misrepresentation of a cross-license agreement. Intel doesn't get AMD IP "for free", it's CROSS-licensing. Many cross-license agreements include cash considerations in one direction, it would be surprising if it weren't so.
"Biologically speaking homosexuality is bad for the replication of any species in it's most basic form..."
There is utterly no evidence to support this assertion, and there is evidence that homosexuality is, in fact, a side effect of an adaptation that improves reproduction in a species.
"This is a scientific certitude that only delusion will argue with."
And this says a lot about your intellectual capacity, or lack thereof, not that your bogus claim matters in any way. It is what it is.
So they say. Don't you find it odd that a drive can't possibly correct for errors but a filesystem can?
I wonder if drive vendors acknowledge that 100% of their high capacity drives are incapable of functioning without uncorrectable errors. Perhaps they should implement ZFS internally and all problems would be solved.
"The fact that very few pundits even acknowledge this quadrupling of their output is telling."
Not at all. They have four platforms: Mac, phone/tablet, TV, watch so having four software platforms (all interrelated) is not telling or even surprising, it's entirely expected. What is telling is that you choose to paint this is somehow indicative of something wrong with Apple. Of course they have distinct Ones, they haven't committed the Windows failure.
"Instead, they get all sarcastic about notches on phones that haven't shipped yet..."
Indeed, that "pundits" choose to comment on things other than your flawed views is a condemnation of them.
Sooner or later, Apple will die and you will be vindicated. It may happen long after you are gone, of course, who knows. If only they had chosen a single OS on every platform they would be kings, just like Microsoft.
"Will you now argue that someone who wants to cut off a part of their body to gain a disability doesn't have a mental illness?"
This is, of course, a deliberate mischaracterization to advance an ignorant point of view.
"Is that not the very definition of a psychiatric problem?"
No, it is not, which is trivially easy to verify.
"Unless you want to argue that the entire branch of psychology is wrong."
Wouldn't be the first time. It's not as though psychology has a strong record of scientific success.
Definitions of words and terms are not all that interesting. Pigeon-holing transsexuals as mentally ill allows you to dismiss them and feel better about your bigotry.
Left-handedness was once considered the sign of the devil. Perhaps it still should be?
Uhmmm..........motors produce ZERO power at stall regardless of torque.
If you like the app you have, you can keep it. Seriously, you're a moron.

Good to see you upholding the tradition of speaking in total ignorance. I might suggest you first look up "fad".
There is high quality 8K source material, just not necessarily available to the public at this time. No need to that to change unless displays exist.
Everything you've said here was recently said about 4K.

Shame what's modded insightful around here.
99% sure you know nothing about patents and have no experience with them.

"HDR+ increases the dynamic range of the sensor."
No it doesn't. Dynamic range of the sensor is fixed.
"Cameraphones are already plenty sharp..."
Says who? Small sensors and cheap lenses are only "plenty sharp" to non-discriminating users.
"...early all of the top camera phones shoot DNG uncompressed RAW and now they're implementing improved HDR modes to extended the dynamic range"
Shooting RAW disables post-processing during acquisition, rendering your comments on HDR moot.
"I own an 8k RED camera..."
You may own one, and you may not, but owning one doesn't mean you know anything about photography. Your comments say otherwise.

Lower your fanboy ranting a level.
Nah, he's just passing off his own publicly claimed preferences as biologically superior in hopes of soothing his insecurities over his orientation.

"If ZFS doesn't have a way to put its hands into the RAID, it can't attempt to rebuild known corrupted data."
Nonsense.
"Until mdadm and hardware RAID controllers allow you to issue a "read, but try to give a different result" operation you can't do this."
More nonsense.
"(Said operation would attempt to use parity even on a healthy array in an attempt to give a different block content by pretending a disk is dead)."
Apparently you believe that redundancy information can't be checked unless hardware provides an option to do it for you.
You should probably stop talking.
RAID, as defined in the original paper, involves data striping and striping cannot be implemented with less than 2 drives.
If you desire redundancy, RAID requires a minimum of 3 drives. A mirrored drive pair is not RAID, it is just mirroring.
True only if you don't care how good an indicator it is. In that case, time of day is an indicator of obesity as well.
Telling of what? You allow it too, and you post as AC. Even more telling...
Combining RAID 5 with SSD is ignorant.

"Want to argue pedophiles aren't mentally ill because pedophilia is "just a disorder"?"
Why not? Shouldn't facts be more important than your emotional investment?
People should be judged by what they do, not how they feel. Feeling a certain way is not inherently a mental illness.
"Likely yes, because there's other things that have likely triggered that behavior."
I suspect every time you open your mouth everyone around you gets a little dumber.
It appears everything to you can ultimately be reduced to a "mental disorder"
"Now a simple disorder"
LOL will the stupidity never end
