Has Internet2 provided a network for Research and Education for 15 years, continuing to grow capacity with the needs of its community? yes.
Has Internet2 built a set of middleware and tools that it has open-sourced for this same community to enhance the state of research and education network operations? yes.
Has Internet2 pushed the boundaries of what router vendors support, Having IPv6 when it was still considered an 'advanced service' by most network device providers, multicast, and providing a Telepresence VOIP bridge? yeah.. they've done that too.
So, I suppose it depends on how you define 'Delivered.'
Full disclosure: I work for an institution which is an Internet2 Member.
I suppose it was a bad idea to include my mother's maiden name, first pets name, original hometown, SSN, major banking and credit card numbers complete with routing and Security numbers in my resume. Who knew?
I was an avid gamer about 6 months ago, and I have been excited about a few games to come out recently, but I just don't see a reason to buy them anymore. The games I was excited to see come out this quarter I could live with or without now. Am I.. growing up?!?
nooOO!
Yes, in our narrow minded world it is a "girl game", just like Katamari Damacy and Sims were labeled "Girl Games" because they were fun and quirky and for some reason drew in the female demographic. I've played all of these titles and thought, "wow, a game thats easy to pick up, but challenging to master, and keeps my interest! I like this, and I bet my girlfriend will too!"
I'm at IUPUI and they don't let us use anything more than a scientific calculator for quizzes or tests for any class. I've got a TI-83 thats been sitting on my desk since I entered college basically.
Just for one minute I'd like to think that people weren't completely and totally ignorant. This is user error at its finest, as the controller works properly and in no way causes "the remote to leave the user's hand" Letting go causes the remote to leave your hand, end of story. This is like someone suing a bridge designer because they were able to plow through the side wall and their car ended up in the river.
yes, The reverse is a well studied application, though the materials used are slightly different for optimal current instead of optimal temperature difference
...but if we all lived in theory everything would work all of the time.
I always write my html to the xhtml strict standard and make sure my css is up to the current standard not because I personally care, but because of the ever expanding list of browsers I'd have to hack it to work with otherwise.. I mean we have cell phones, pda's, psps, xboxes, Wii is supposed to have a browser.. so instead of writing a separate style sheet for each (which you end up doing if you want to support IE... yech..) just write one that adheres to the way the standard is supposed to work and tell people to bitch to their browser developer if it looks wonky.
PS: This is obviously not for commercial products.. as people don't ever think anything could be wrong with their precious browser... though if every website at once stopped making hacks to work for broken browsers.. perhaps people would start complaining to the web browser developers along with website developers.
This will work essentially like a xbox live game update has before. Microsoft will send you a recompiled default.xbe, it will stay on your harddrive and is automatically loaded instead of the one on the cd. All the other data is still valid. Now, they may have totally different instruction sets, but programming for the xbox is a high enough level language that the API's could be identical, or have backwards compatibility in mind (this is Microsoft we're talking about). Therefore, it may just be as simple as firing up the project, running it through the new libraries set to compile for the xbox360
Because it increases the odds I'll actually buy it. If they all come out around the same time, I'll buy the cheapest one first, and then wait to see which of the other two I just have to have.
Honestly, I'll be buying a PS2 when the 360 and the PS3 come out, because a) the bugs have been worked out in them finally (I think) and 2.5) The handful of great games I want to play on the PS2 (mostly RPGS) will finally be cheap enough I'll buy them.
Anyone remember the boom of Satellite card programming? now they're going to enable a simple card to control our cable subscription too? awesome, time to go buy a new tv!
I'm not really too surprised that as a symbol of their "revolution" that the traditional items of Nintendo will die...
What I want to know, and what I think is going to be the only thing that matters is: how many games are there going to be on rollout, and will they for the first time since the SNES actually have a decent flow of games throughout the system life. I have a Gamecube that waits for the next Zelda or Mario (even another luigi game for god's sake). It gets used about once every 3 months when they come out with a new game, then it goes back away...
Nintendo, the revolution we're looking for has a lot less to do with the hardware.. and a lot more to do with the games!
You'll read that they have both given up and shut their doors to torrent hosting. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but when two of the biggest torrent link sites go down very close in time to one another, I'm guessing there was a sweep of cease and decist letters. Guess its true about the "The bigger they are" hypothesis
I wonder why he doesn't say what type of webcam it is. My only thought is that he's possibly afraid someone will find where it is hidden and steal it because its nice. Some form of security through obscurity I suppose.
I've seen about everything they've done so far..
the stations you dock at give you this feel of a gigantic civilization, and since the game has gone live there is a continuous hustle and bustle of people.
One of my favorite things is the defense of the cargo ships. Two nations are at war, and get their supplies from a third, so people from the warring factions try and steal the other's cargo. Its really intense.
we have a US government agency in charge of ridding the world of fences? no wonder taxes are so high...
its Defense... say it with me... spell check...
I was worried I wasn't getting enough google ads reading slashdot every 30 minutes.
no, but really, thats how sad I am.. I'm on a 30 minute refresh cycle..
it seems humor doesn't travel well across the internet: parent is trying (I thought sucessfully) to be funny.
additional FPS for nethack? nethack.. you know.. the game that you could play on a 386 without complications?
thats like me saying: I wonder if geforce 6 will give me enough extra FPS to use emacs, Vim, and mozilla firefox all at the same time?!
Not because of product lock-in.. because as downloading music becomes more and more popular, and more people have the devices, and more places begin to sell it, you'll see the market will move to make a profit instead of decrease like typical goods. So buy your music now, before its US$2.50 a song.

Isn't Nature the one that won't let people post their articles on the internet before hand?
a bar where a pimp sells bitches: brothel. Just as long as you're not the pimp or the bitches it sounds like you're off the hook.
its quite simple.. they're using flash to run the javascript popup control. Its in the process of being fixed by mozilla/safari for sure.

obligatory mutation of spinal tap quote: "This X GOES UP TO 11!"
I think it would be very cool to do a Legend of Zelda cartoon, even if it was in the styling of Wind Waker.

now it doesn't matter what OS I'm running, I might as well just leave the screen door unlocked...
