Are you sure you don't have a wrong number? As I understand it, it is a generally accepted belief that Allah and Jehova are one and the same. Yes, I know your post is a joke...
True, some make millions, but most end up in debt. Essentially the "service" the RIAA provides is a gigantic loan, with a lot of interest. The RIAA fronts the bill for advertising and such, but takes more than that out of the profits of the band. If they happen to break even, and pay that off, they can start earning money, pennies on the dollar of what the record companies and RIAA each make.
But that is their choice, and if they want to make a living on making music, it may seem to work out for them. They may get lucky and make enough to live on. But for most, entering to a deal of that sort is like a high risk lottery.
One of the reasons I decided not to pursue music as a career is that I did not want to have to deal with the RIAA, nor did I want to have to live on a pittance for the rest of my life.
Though I agree with most of what you say, I have one minor nitpick. They did not make the product. They simply conned other people into making music, and they sell the cd's. I suppose an argument could be that they made the cd's, but they alone are nothing more than coasters without the work of the artist. It could also be said that without the RIAA, the band would not be together. Most bands that are discovered by record companies (with the exception of fabricated boy bands) are already together, and already making music.
That said, I don't think that infringing on the copyright (pirating, stealing, whatever! It's all semantics) is the way to take down the RIAA and such. I simply vote with my dollar. I listen to local music for the most part, and, in the off chance I feel like listening to something more professional, I check with RIAA Radar to find out if the money from the CD I am considering purchasing is going to the RIAA. It's their choice to screw people over, it's my choice not to support that.
My understanding is that it is a pain (or perhaps impossible) to slipstream a Update Rollup. That just sucks for people who want the latest fixes on a clean install. Somebody please prove me wrong, I want it to be easy, or at least possible to do!
It gives somebody a clue when spam comes out of their rooted box or open relay mail server. It also makes for a cleaner internet. That junk traffic doesn't go far!
At first glance, I believed that this was a troll, or maybe just flamebait. Then I thought about it for a second, and realized that he has a somewhat valid point. I'm not ashamed to say that I am a Catholic, which may explain my initial reaction. So many people that claim to be Catholic only do so because their parents did, not because of any belief of their own.
In this case, people who recite the Nicene Creed, which was the second link in the parent post, are in fact, reciting a lie. They are saying "I believe" to each of the statements, when they don't really believe.
This is actually a pretty deep statement by the parent. I doubt he meant it that way, since the first link implies that all people who believe that which they do not see are idiots, but sometimes you can get a good kernel of corn out of a turd.
Their goal is also to upgrade current revenue, by getting money out of dishonest PC Manufacturers. If they can't pay up, then they go out of business, making MS more money from people who buy legit copies. Either way, they win, at the expense of the dishonest manufacturer.
I accidentally found a starcraft installation key, as I couldn't find mine once. I just typed in the numbers from 1-9, then 0, and repeated until the key was full. It worked. It still didn't work on battle.net, though.
I've not had the opportunity to try out this new hardware, but as I understand it, the SLI requires a connecter to connect the video cards together. I would assume that this is how the switch is done between dual cards and SLI, so you may need to open up the case to get the results you are looking for. Just a heads-up, so you aren't disappointed.
I did not mean that in a complaining sense, nor do I purchase software all that often. I do play games (in the little free time I currently have), but I also understand that it is not a necessity. Now, if I am in a situation that I must purchase software, I simply buy it online, from a company I trust (usually GoGamer. I've had to deal with their return policy, due to a packing error, and I am happy with how it turned out.
But, more on topic, I had my previous post to relate how that particular law does inconvienience people. In my situation it happened to be a game, but many people purchase office suites and operating systems that require activation. I have had software required for my school, and I know people who have required software to work at home. I think they should be able to easily do so, and return it, if they happened to purchase the wrong item. I also think that there should not be a law on the books mandating a return policy for privately owned stores. The whole thing is ridiculous!
The problem with that is that some people, like myself, live an hour and a half from the next state over. It is a great inconvienience to go to the next state to pick up some stupid game, though the alternative is also inconvienient...
I had Best Buy sell me an opened game (Somehow missing the clear sealing stickers), and when I read reviews about how terrible the game is (Magic the Gathering: Battlegrounds), I attempted to return it. The customer service person told me that it was "illegal" for Best Buy to sell it to me. I left the store, and I avoid the store as much as possible. I will always get some relative that knows that I like tech stuff, and give me a Best Buy Gift Certificate, and I will have to enter that store again, but I'll just blow it on their "Loss Leaders";)
If I download the game and my hard drive crashes, can I reinstall it via Steam to a different hard drive? Yes Can I install it to more than one computer if I only play one at a time (ie my desktop machine and my laptop)? Yes, as long as you use the same username for the steam accounts. Does it cost anything to have a Steam account other than the initial cost of the game? No, not at this time. From steam subscriber agreement
4. BILLING, PAYMENT AND OTHER SUBSCRIPTIONS
You may become a Subscriber of Steam without paying Valve to access any services, software and other content Valve offers for free. However, Valve or its authorized Steam resellers will charge Subscription fees to access certain services, software and content areas of Steam. You must be a Subscriber of Steam and pay any required Subscription fees to use such services, software and other content. If you must pay a Subscription fee to access part of Steam this information will be posted in the Rules of Use. All fees are stated in U.S. dollars unless otherwise specified. You may subscribe by providing us with a valid payment and billing information. Current Subscription fees and other billing information is available at http://www.steampowered.com
The game has no subscription services at this time, AFAIK. I've not seen problems with half-life 1 or 2 or any of its mods.
But what about the excellent IT color scheme? That seems to be an improvement! It makes my stay here much more efficient. By avoiding that scheme, I have nearly halved the amount of time I spend(read: waste) each day reading pointless news each day! If that's not an improvement, I don't know what is.
Yes, I know how to change the scheme. It's called sarcasm. I wish I didn't have to add this disclaimer to my post, but some idiot is going to be "helpful", and show me the way to "fix" this problem. But then again, if they can't sense sarcasm, they probably don't even read this part, so this is pointless to put here. If you got this far, you've just wasted a fair bit of your own time.
He's got super human intelligence, so he knows that funny posts are not good for karma, so he posts intelligently. As AC, no doubt, like all the smart ones do. Hey wait...
Mind using the word spoiler? I haven't yet seen the movie, and I'm sure there are at least a couple others that would like to have a choice of what they know about the movie ahead of time. From the context, I don't think it is a major plot part, so I'm not angry, just thought it might be considerate to let people know.
Actually, there were 500,000 or so into the closed beta. The open beta was just that, open to all. I have one brother accepted into the closed beta, and one who was not, and later downloaded the client for the open beta. Personally, I avoid those games like the plague, as I can't handle the time commitment, with 3 part-time jobs, full-time school, and a girlfriend. I can barely squeeze in time for an occasional FPS.
I just simplify things and use admin@127.0.0.1 for the addresses. That should either give spammers a taste of their own medicine, or make somebody with an open relay think something is up.
Today's strongbad e-mail mentions Linux, although briefly, not flatteringly, nor in correct context. I would say it is the funniest one ever. Here is a direct link.

Lying, in which way? I am unclear about whether they were lying about it being there, or about it not. I see people responding in both ways. Thanks.
