Dont quit your dayjob to be a psychic, cuz you're dead wrong. I dont see its appeal even after playing it. Try sticking to matters of which you have concrete knowledge, mkay?
I feel about Arrested Development what you seem to feel for Malcolm in the Middle. Some of my friends agree with me. Some of them like both. Therein lies the matter of personal taste.
I find Malcom funny because of some of the actors, not necessarily the plotlines. Arrested Development didn't hold my attention thru the opening 2 minutes. I found Malcom entirely by accident somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd seasons, and even then only some of the episodes are truly outstanding.
The fact remains though that the Simpsons is the only show Fox has let live long enough to transition from excellent and innnovative to stale; most other shows go from innovative->dead in a few episodes, or from stale->gougemyeyesoutplease for seasons at a time.
Aside from your remarkable counting ability, your desire to hide behind the shield of AC, and your obvious trollishness, I'll respond.
For people who grew up watching Star Trek, and then saw it utterly ruined after Gene died; for people who see modern television shows and gag in disgust; for anyone who lives the western or scifi in general...Firefly is for you. It was comical, serious, witty, thought provoking by turns. Its not the second coming or anything, but its a darn sight better than any other television scifi I can remember seeing in recent years. And despite diving in with multiple deep story arc possibilities, Fox did its usual* and killed it with crappy timeslots and mixing the episode order up.
You don't like it, thats your opinion. I don't get whats with you adolescents who feel the need to snipe at anyone and everyone who expresses an opinion about something simply to harass them.
*- Fox cannot let a good, innnovative show live unless it is the Simpsons, pretty much. Malcom in the Middle is trying hard to be added to that list IMO.
You'd like to think it is. But I'd like something a little more concrete than the word of an AC. Links or legal precedent, or even legal speculation from authoritive sources.
Legally, what are the implications of the concession?
What if the vote counting is finished, and Kerry comes out ahead in Electoral votes? Is the concession a legally binding surrender, or what? Could the debate be resumed in the courts at a later time?
I perfectly respect their right to protest against Bush, even if I disagree with their opinions. I was speaking against the small subset of folks who protested against the RNC itself even existing. I should have made myself more clear, as I didn't intend to label all the protesters under one group like that. I don't have links at the moment, but I heard of several groups in the news who spoke against the RNC in general, and not just against the policies of the current president; my beef is with those who want only their opinions to get aired, and protest when anyone else tries to speak out. All political groups have at least a few folks like this, but its (hopefully) not a majority of folks out there.
And even if you dislike Bush, its still pretty dumb to protest people's Consitutional right to assemble for a group they support (I'm speaking of the RNC, not a terrorist group, and I'm fully expecting someone to chime in with the boring 'RNC == terrorist group' comparison).
I may not like a lot of what Democrats have to say, but I don't try and prevent them from being able to assemble and say it; I simply exercise my free will and go do something more enjoyable. Ditto when Republicans start going off on something I don't care about.
I guess I should quantify my statement that she knew appropriate age levels: I was within earshot of them for a while and she rebuffed every attempt of his to get an adult oriented game, while not minding the PG-13s so much.
I saw a 12yr old asking his mom to buy a copy of the game at Best Buy last night. She told him firmly he's not getting Grand Theft Auto. I wish more parents would do that kind of thing, as she seemed knowledgeable of the appropriate age level for the game.
And, since that was the last copy in the store, her making him put it down let me get it instead. Score!
"It makes me laugh, the 12-y-o son of the man running the most powerful IT company in the world gets it, but Ballmer himself doesn't."
Funny, it makes me want to cry...
Was discussing this sort of thing in general with a friend this morning, and we both agreed that we need some young blood injected into America's political matrix. Until we get some tech-savvy people who understand what American's want from their technology and don't pander to what the corporations try to force on us, we're gonna be stuck in a downward spiral of increasingly draconian restrictions.
But since I won't be able to check hotmail via OE...good thing I already have Gmail:p
I still remember the good old days, back when MS didnt own hotmail and the service didn't suck...this is seriously just an attempt to get more paying customers for MS, as it does nothing for spam given the restrictions already in place. Same crap yahoo mail pulled, and again I'll stop using hotmail just as I ditched yahoo. I'll be heartbroken if gmail doesnt implement IMAP support eventually.
And gun manufacturers certainly arent selling their wares with the intent to cause death, either. There are cops who can go their entire careers without having to shoot and kill anyone, and thats partially due to the fact that they have a weapon and the training to use it, and criminals know that. Deterrent force seems the prime application of most legally obtained guns at large in the country today (with the exception of hunting weapons).
Buying a gun isnt about killing someone, unless you're a murderer. In which case you have other issues. Its about deterrence and defense. If a criminal sees the local cops as pushovers with nothing but billy clubs, they're more likely to commit a blatant violent crime than when a cop is armed and willing to use it to enforce the law and public safety.
So back off on the 'intent to kill makes you evil' nonsense. It does nothing but illustrate an irrational grudge of yours against gun manufacturers, when you should be irritated at the criminals who misuse their products.
Blizzard is going to wait on Starcraft 2 for years still...every year they wait brings in new Starcraft addicts, and they've still got quite a few years before the majority of their players start dying of old age; so they're gonna hold off to get as many people chomping at the bit for Starcraft 2 as possible. That way in case it doesn't perform up to expectations (as many argue was the case with Warcraft 3, and of course the Matrix sequels and Star Wars prequels) they'll still make tons of money on the initial wave of purchasing.
Or thats my current conspiracy theory explanation/creation... gotta do something to pass the time while waiting for them to release it.
Yeah, I adopted a scorched earth policy for Chrysalid-elimination, resorting to long range explosives wherever they were located. I sometimes felt bad for the rookie who's job it was to be an unarmed scout, but hey, recuitment levels were high..
Would it by chance have been @sony.chtah.com? I've gotten emails from several different @companyname.chtah.com. I think its a spam company or something to that effect (googling for it in webpages returns mixed opinions), but I blacklisted it for irritating me.
Bestbuy@postfuture.com irritates the crap out of me too. Why cant they just send from @bestbuy.com??
Thats a method I use myself, and yet I was still able to successfully complete the test. There's this little thing called 'Page Source' (Ctrl-U in firefox) that lets you see whats behind the HTML hyperlinks, and made this test ridiculously easy when combined with 'dig' in my linux terminal.
But simply put, if a company emails asking for an information update, I just goto the page like usual by typing their domain and logging in; I never click email links.
If they have info they need from me, they'll tell me again once I login. Otherwise, they must not need it badly/at all.
That being said, 9/10 because I didnt maximize my source window, so I missed the Earthlink one having all those spaces and an '@weirdurl' after the legit 'earthlink.net'
"I don't think anyone makes a sport out of cheating"
You've never played computer games online before, have you?
In my experience, there is a very large segment of online gamers who make a sport out of cheating, both in exploiting game bugs and using hacks, codes, etc; this is done not to make the game easier for them, but rather to annoy the other players in the game. They derive their pleasure not from the game itself, but from the reactions they generate as they unfairly ruin the game for others. Much the same as many/. trolls, I imagine.
Thats one point he didn't quite cover in the article, but since he was being more general than just multiplayer gaming its understandable. It'd be nice to have games with tighter, more effective cheat controls/ways to eliminate cheaters. I know its tough as anything to do, of course, but one could hope?
For a new Shuttle box, yeah its pricey. New hardware always is. If you're the kind that buys videocards or processors when they're brand new, then a new Shuttle wont cause you to bat an eye. But if you look at the second and third-newest hardware you find real gems for inexpensive home/office use. And the small form factor makes them highly appealing for a variety of reasons for many people. If you dont care about having an ugly beige monstrosity (I have 2, and still love them) then yes, you can generally get the same system for marginally less; but the space-savings are worth a few dollars for many people.
In other words, I was speaking about Shuttle in general and not strictly about this one case, since its one I've not even built a system out of. There are Shuttle cases for $160 with RAID, and of course onboard video, sound, LAN, and multiple firewire, usb, and serial ports. You can get cases with built-in wireless, with Gigabit ethernet, with support for Pentium processors and AMD ranging from the old to the brand-spanking-new 64bit procs.. You can find a Shuttle to fit just about any need, and of course for the more expensive needs you'll pay a price; just like with almost all the other hardware out there.
Dont quit your dayjob to be a psychic, cuz you're dead wrong. I dont see its appeal even after playing it. Try sticking to matters of which you have concrete knowledge, mkay?

That game is so weird. Why anyone would want a sequel...I just won't understand some things, I guess.

Thank you! Filled out the form there. I'd heard talk of Direct-to-DVD before, but didnt know there was a signup place to express interest.
I'd def pay for new eps on dvd. Its a business model I wouldnt mind seeing take off for several older, cancelled shows.
Do we get to blame George Lucas for screwing with Firefly as well as our (original) Star Wars now?

As if millions of geeks suddenly cried out in anguish...
*sigh* Hopefully it'll be worth the wait. My Firefly addiction needs more material!
Is it really?

Thanks...now I have to go home and watch that movie again just so I can imagine its spammers at the end. I'd join a group doing that so quickly...

I'd give my right arm for that extension currently...stupid flash animations slow down my browsing far to often lately.
