Planes are not sealed, just pressurized. Using this on a sub or a space station might be a problem (I would imagine not but at least theoretically it could), but a plane would be fine.
And you think fat is bad why? Oh, a commercial told you? It never ceases to amaze me how unquestioningly we accept results from nutritional-study-of-the-month (last night it was 'find out how a new study says milk causes cancer), but yet virtually all other science is derided.
Yes animal fat is bad for you, and it is completely natural that we now eat vegetable to animal fats in a ratio of 20:1, as opposed to more like 1:1 for all of human history till a century ago. It has nothing to do with the invention of Crisco and margarine and other vegetable shortening in that time period.
You think McDonald's/Wendy's/whatever are cheap? They do not buy it because it is cheaper than eating healthy. Maybe because there is a lack of fresh food available where they live (NYC has farmer's markets for this reason), or because nobody taught them how to cook, or because they are lazy, or because they don't have time, but I guarantee you that eating healthier is waaaaay cheaper than McD's.
You joke, and yet there is a grain of truth. It's not so much about proof-based math vs faith-based math as it is about Proof-based math pedagogy. The math itself is not in question, but they way we present and teach the math can be a heated topic. We have the observed truth that students come out of math classes knowing less math then we would like them to, and there are various hypotheses about how to change that. Simply saying 'The teachers suck, we need better teachers.' does not cut it.
Do you have any basis for this peculiar bit of anti-americanism? As far as I know the International Building Code is used for pretty much all large scale construction around the world.
Henry is just utterly unsuited for a relationship with any normal human, regardless of sexual orientation. He is awesome, but he is an anal, obsessive, opinionated workaholic with a very jaundiced view of life in general (and he more or less says this during his shows).
Well, yes, but I think the fact that they were old women in galoshes helps that (at least all the sentos and onsens I went to). Even so, living in Japan made me realize that oddly I have no nudity shyness at all. I guess I never noticed before because it's not like you get a lot of chance to test that out in the US.
What has changed it that now Specter won't be ousted in a primary challenge from the right, which was what was going to happen. With his stance on labor I think he will have challenge concerns on the left in the Dem primary, but it is not the near certain loss he was going to sustain if he had stayed with the GOP. Whoever is the Dem candidate is going to crush the likely GOP candidate Toomey now, and Specter would like to be that guy. Personally I hope he gets his rear bounced out of power and we get a real Democrat in his place come election day.
As someone pointed out in another post yesterday, the USPS handles more items in a day then UPS and FedEx do in a year combined, for cheaper and in general without direct gov't money.
Want mod points! This is exactly the case. The people who would benefit most from universal healthcare would be small businesses, but the people I know who own small businesses are all brainwashed dittoheads.
Dan Brown? Is that you?

It doesn't bother me much, so I volunteered.
What will happen is the death of private healthcare, and not a moment too soon.
Please give us more face biting like Sweden. (though I will note I am an NYC resident and have fairly high taxation already, b US standards).
This is because Atheism is an unthinking ideology, which is as bad as a religion.
Too bad I only get these calls on my cell phone...

My wife is from Moscow and thought he was hilarious.

Of course, the teabaggers were in fact bigots and fanatics...

They are only a 'novelty band' if their novelty is being awesome!
I suppose pointing out that historically the IRA were socialists and more or less anti-clerical would be unwelcome here?
Remember kids: It's not Democracy unless the side you agree with wins.
100 percent insightful.
Why are you moderated Funny? My Kingdom for a mod point. This is Insightful.
We should start a power company (deregulated of course) to sell electricity generated by the spinning of William F. Buckley's corpse.

But, but...scientists have beards, and look kind of like hippies....and we hate hippies...right? /sarcasm
