Being point-and-click is NOT the reason D3 got so much flak.
If thedy got rid of the RMAH and all the game mechanics to steer players to it (i.e. crap loot, insanely hard mobs towards the end of Hell and Inferno unless you buy RMAH gear), I'd jump right back on it.
Like another poster so eloquently said in another thread, the Windows and Office divisions called all the shots at Microsoft since they raked in the dough and subsidized money-losing divisions. Now those sources are drying up and this is what happens.
This is the MHz was all over again. After a certain point, 99% of users stop caring because it's "good enough."
I once ran a test on my Note 2 with different screen brightness and lighting conditions, with different people. I asked them to guess the screen resolution between (a) 720p and (b) 1080p, playing a movie in 720p (the actual screen resolution).
The ones who said they could tell the difference actually got it wrong, claiming it was 1080p.
Most just didn't care one way or the other.
Let the engineers leave the dpi race aside and work on more pressing matters, like creating cheaper screens that are not battery hogs, with correct color warmth and bigger than OLEDs.
Yes, there's also a formula for the perfect +5 Slashdot post too.
Always start by "I know this will get modded down into oblivion, but..."
Then bash Google, Apple, Facebook, or Microsoft, no matter what the subject is.
Make a car analogy.
Br a grmmer Nazi.
Insinuate all/. are virgins who live in their parents' basement.
Use Simpsons, TBBT, Star Wars/Trek references whenever possible.

Label someone's facts as opinions simply because the guy didn't post a Wikipedia link, and say "oh, don't let facts get in the way of your biased argument."
In this crap economy, organizations recruiting college younglings with no real-world experience are a very rare sight.
Yet, these dumb rich spoiled kids blew any employment opportunity they potentially had by hating the NSA, since it's the latest cool and hip thing to do.
The Soyuz is reliable and relatively cheap to build.
"It has become the world's most used space launcher, flying over 1700 times, far more than any other rocket. It is a very old basic design, but is notable for low cost and very high reliability, both of which appeal to commercial clients."
What's the problem with you guys? Don't you have more than 1 Android device tied to the same Google account (especially an older one, or a tablet)?
The Play Store makes it pretty clear which device(s) on your account will or won't work with the selected software. Just add the console to the list and be done with it.
Aren't space shuttles and (maybe) capsules (from, say, Apollo program) alredy shielded from cosmic rays and radiation somewhat? It's not like engineers and physicists didn't know about them before the Mercury program even was started.
Does it have anything to do with the length of the flight to Mars or the martian thin atmosphere not being able to filter them out?
Yeah, SSDs are all the rage now, but they're no match to spinning platters when it comes to $ per GB, which's really what matters to anyone who's not a gamer or DBA.
I'm not going to pay around $1 per GB just to see Windows start up faster.
When the hell will this industry get rid of dynamic compression, given that newer media (BluRay, SACD, etc.) have far more bandwidth than the CDs of yesterday??
It's gotten to the point where I (and many people I know) skipped buying certain albums (which I otherwise would've loved to own) because of this damn mastering practice!!
It would drive the price of batteries sky high, as well as other devices that use said batteries, such as cell phones.
Supply and demand. Econ 101. Nothing to see here besides another Tesla slashvertisement.
Did they use left over WiiU tablet cases for that monstrosity??
Because Microsoft doesn't have enough friends in Washington, and no important politicians are major MSFT shareholders.
The moment someone uses John Dvorak to support an argument, I stop taking them seriously.
Big difference there. Wall St. hates it when a company fires its CEO.
I guess this was the best way the board found to get rid of the chair-throwing monkey without disturbing stock prices.
Then don't play.

Yay for sane cellphone prices. Beween this and Nexus devices, we could see an end to Apple's and Samsung's butt-raping our bank accounts.
This is a well known negociation strategy to get better deals from Microsoft. Remember when Dell threatened to go AMD-only?
Acer is a big laptop OEM, especially in emerging markets. What are they going to put in them? A browser OS? Really?
But lambasting Microsoft and Windows phones is a lot more entertaining than some boring technical and cohesive explanation.

I find it ironic that Nintendo blames Nintendo for the slow sales of the WiiU.
Maybe the PR person who wrote that piece was/should become a politician.

That's going to be the new financial mumbo jumbo that will destroy the economy again in another 10 years or so??

On a galactic scale, it's more like once every 5 seconds.
Then maybe you should avoid buying a phone that includes such features.
+4 Insightful?? Really??

Not at the currently asking price, nope.
If it worked as a standalone unit, then maybe, but oh wait, I already own a PS Vita, Note 2, Nexus 10, and notebook.
I'm pretty sure most people already have at least one portable device to play games on, making the Shield effectively superfluous.
They have the manufacturing ability and steamroll over patents, trademarks, intellectual property, etc.
Really, was that so hard??
