Last Xmas I gave myself a Galaxy Note 2, upgrading from an aging HD2. I'm a big screen whore so it was a no brainer.
Yes, at first it's cumbersome and unwieldy and I took a couple weeks of daily usage to get used to it. All reviews pointed this out, so I knew what I was getting into.
Now I can operate it one-handed (ok, I have big NBA-player hands) and it fits in any pocket if I remove the rubbery cover I got at DX.
Any S3 or iPhone 5 is tiny by comparsion. I just don't see mysef going back to small screens.
Does the device only check for pulse or does it also compare to the person's normal blood pressure (which was obtained upon registration into the system) to make sure the person being authenticated isn't being coerced into granting access to unauthorized personnel/burglars, etc???
The automomous Terminator-style robots the summary refers to are far from becoming a battlefield standard, much to the disappointment of the/. crowd and sci-fi nerds.
Predator drones et al., like all current robotic devices in the battlefield, still have a human being in charge making all the decisions, so the points raised are completely moot.
From what I understand, I still need a beefy PC to make this work. So, how's this any different than hooking up my video card's HDMI output straight into my TV set?
Having never heard of Buckyballs, I had to check the site out. Turns out that $30-$40 per set won't exactly break the budget, but you can assemble a similar kit from eBay for a LOT less (including shipping).
Wow, it's nice to see Gabon is in a great economic position, has eliminated all poverty, improved education, public healthcare, great mass transit systems, and can afford the luxury to turn down an offer to host what's sure to become one of the most popular websites on Earth, which will generate millions in ad revenue.
If some stupid intellectuals from Harvard, Yale, etc. aren't happy with Wikipedia's "scholarly maturity," then maybe they/their respective institutions should pony up and donate to the project.
Apparently, someone just updated their Catalyst drivers yesterday (like me), saw the ads for these exact games during the installation, and decided it would make a great/. front page story.
AMD still lags behingd Nvidia when it comes to the major blockbusters.
Nokia Lumia phones are pretty and the WP8 interface is a joy to use, but, when the honeymoon is over, we need APPS, which WP8 doesn't have.
Until WP8 has a huge library of apps like Google Play and iTunes, I don't see the situation improving.
This, in turn, leads to a chicken-and-egg situation: Consumers go for the phone with most apps, developers, developers, developers develop for the phones with most users. Ballmer throws chairs...
Which is exactly why socialism doesn't work and never will.
Whenever you try to do something nice to help everyone and try to keep basic economic principles locked away in a cage (supply & demand, in the case), someone will game the system to their advantage.
I never saw the point of building Thrust SSC and its ilk. Can the technology be transferred to street legal cars? No. Does it provide new insights into the science invlved, such as aerodynamics? No, since they use mostly existing rocket science (pun intended) to make it work. How does a project like this advances science?
Oh well, at least it's privately funded, so we can rest assured our tax money isn't being pissed in the wind.
Sure, it's the same on the outside, but what about the stuff inside and possible outcomes if, say, it gets involved in a serious accident? Will the car electrocute the jaws of life operator? What if it hits an oil tanker? What if it gets involved in a collision with other homemade electric cars?
If only they listened to me: I recommend Micro Phone as a trademark. Goes superbly with the other generic words like Windows, Word, Excel, Access, SQL Server... MSNokia! sounds! more! like! a! Yahoo! brand.
Except these generic words are not trademarked. The trademarks are Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Apple, Inc.
No, not a whoosh, I got the joke. Just pointing out a fact.
That's not what she said, admit it.

Hey, James Cameron, are you the submitter??

Because there's no way to prove you've actually read and understood the library books you took home or the internet sites you visited.
Like GW2, SWTOR, TSW.
I'll wait and see, but I'm not holding my breath.
Because there are soooooooooooooooooo many important tweets worth of archiving...

FTFY.
If the 13-year-old commits murder, are the parents liable? Are the parents liable for any of the kid's law-breaking actions?
How's downloading illegal music any different?
This is what they are, seriously?

Hmm, I'm always suspicious of someone who "had several successful businesses." Did Ray Kroc or Sam Walton have "several successful businesses"??

I've done my part.
Oh come on now, dude!! This is a stupid editorial piece based on your own personal opinion full of cherry-picked "sources" to back up said opinions.
And it's ridiculously long, to boot. $100 says less than 2% of readers will finish it.

Nothing to see here.

Capitalism and modern economic theory trump all.
Mod this up!!!!
