  1. Streaming will kill MP3 and its ilk. on MP3 Is Not Dead, It's Finally Free (marco.org) · · Score: 1, Interesting

I used to have over 60,000 tracks stored on my iPod classic. Mostly classical music. Once it went belly up, I replaced it.

Then Spotify and other streaming services implemented offline listening.

Once my second iPod died, I reluctantly gave Spotify a try while deciding to buy a used one, as Apple no longer made the classic.

Been a premium Spotify user ever since and never looked back. I found all the old stuff I cared about, found tons of new music, by different orchestras, conductors, soloists, etc.

My MP3 collection is now filling up a backup HD in a closet.

Yes, I've been burned with a bad video driver once and a bad wireless card driver a couple weeks ago. Shit happens.

If you can't deal with it, then there are a few options:

    1. Fall back to the Slow Ring.
    2. Do a clean reinstall and stay on Release Preview.
    3. Quit the Insider program altogether and do a clean reinstall.

I've used Home Single Language, Pro, and Enterprise, and they all have the option to Defer Updates. All you have to do is follow the news on the Feedback Hub and enable the option when you find something you wouldn't like to install. Bonus points if you're on the Slow Ring, as there are fewer bugs and more time ffor you to receive the update.

Finally, you only have yourself to blame if you entered the Insider program on a production or system-critical PC as opposed to a VR or spare / secondary PC.

I was wondering who still uses an iPad / Android tablet now that the fad has mostly passed and sales have declined.

Mine sits in the drawer in the nightstand most of the time. I only pull it out when I'm doing something on my phone and wish I had a bigger screen.

My first tablet was iPad 2, then Nexus 10, and now a Galaxy Tab S 10.5. I know what I'm taking about, as I've used both iOS and Android. No fanboyism here. I'm definitely now buying a new tablet once the Tab dies.

Between my Nexus 5 and my no-brand 15" gaming notebook, I'm well served as far as my home computing needs go.

Same goes for my decidedly unscientific research goes. My brother gave his tablet to his daughter to play with. My co-workers either sold or ditched theirs. The only exception is my 65-year-old mom, who loves her iPad to death and won't use anything else.
