    Interesting, I've thought about this myself. I thought it would be awesome to "create" sounds from the physics engine instead of playing back recorded noises.

    However, comparing it to 3D graphics, sound samples = textures. Textures are (usually) photos of the real world just like sounds are sampled. So samples don't need to be replaced to be on the same level as 3D graphics, just the reflection, occlusion, etc ala A3D.

    MP3 is an outdated CODEC, the only reason it's still in use is because of compatibility. If you start adding extra features that break compatibility people will just move to a better quality CODEC with the same features (and possibly more).

    What about video cards? The only way to compare performance between them is by benchmarking. I think CPUs will be heading in the same direction. Give each CPU a name and a number that gives you some idea of it's performance in relation to the rest in it's generation (Eg. 5200, 5600, 5900 Ultra). The way to compare is by looking at reviews with benchmarks.

    Well I'm pretty sure it does stand for "RDF Site Summary" except that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you consider that not all versions of RSS use RDF (eg. RSS 2.0).
