I would download them in a heartbeat and gladly watch their commercials if they did this
Quite unlikely... There will be a bunch of cracks for their DRM'd software that will allow you to skip the commericals.....Too tempting. Pay? haha, yeah one time viewing & if its Star Trek will be like five bucks an episode.
The run-ins with the bad guys are all repeatly the same thing over and over again.
But there is a few gems like bugbait (the video) that I haven't progressed to yet.
Call for mercy to any fellow slashdotters listening, I'm kinda stuck on Water Hazard episode.
The puzzles are cool, especially how they give no real hint, but you get a little inspiration like the teeter totter one, add the cement bricks on one end of the board over a barrel to get a boost....
Out of curosity, how much longer do I have before I get to the cool stuff (Gravity gun, etc?).
On the bottom of this page it mentions they are thinking of a Doom movie
Finally, there's the long-in-development "Doom" movie. Bounced around Hollywood for years, the rights to the film now rest with Universal Pictures. And, barring production delays, it now looks like the film could be a reality.
I want nothing to do with this but in the email it states to exclude yourself:

Which is a huge hassle, plus about $3 to $4 in postage just to protect myself from unwanted legal fees. GRRR!
I recall reading that some SETI contributors had found ways to artificially raise their rankings for number of packets processed (forget how they did it). This angered some contributors whose high rankings were based on real results, and who were now being knocked from the top spots by the 'cheaters'.
Does the new client include methods to block the methods used to spoof the current SETI@Home client?
From their Getting started covers credits which states the lowest time to completion is what everybody gets for that workunit. Atleast two or more people must crunch the same workunit for this to be a success.
With 32MB RAM you might consider using something less hungry
I should have been more specific, the 32MB was the Video Memory on the graphics card.
Its 128MB RAM in here, never actually gets totally filled even when playing Descent 3, though does start to page to disk when running Unreal Tournament.
Frankly on my system (p2 266, 32MB TNT2 M64) I find the only distro that seems to run GNOME with any decent speed is Red Hat 8.0. Whenever I try more recent distros like Gentoo/Knoppix the GUI is extremely slow in comparison.
Knoppix would be totally awesome if they had a lean version or an easy way to uninstall some of the software that comes with a full system installation.
The company will initially try to commercialize the technology for using the battery as an emergency power source for computers, according to sources at NEC.
You mean so I can even get first posts when the power is out?

If it becomes standard ten years later I'm sure cordless phones will remain quite camera free.
Working at RadioShack there are still a ton of people who buy cordless phones without caller ID support.
I for one will never buy a webcam (wtf is the point?)
It looks liked you dropped the washing machine into the basket, which raised the ramp. Now drive your airboat over the ramp...
:)
I parted with my airboat a long time ago.....
Problem?

Steve
I don't have a speedometer but I generally keep up with in city traffic quite nicely.
:)
I'd say I can usually keep that speed till the next red light, by then I'm recharged and ready to go again
This thing has a top speed of 36km/h and 50km distance. I'd say it would come in handy to complement your peddling when the wind is not in your favor.
Though I would have liked to have seen it hooked up to the derailleur as the motor specs says it has 'high torque'.
I can usually maintain 35km/h effortlessly, but with this beast 45km/h could be the crusing speed if peddling and motoring can go hand in hand.
Wouldn't go any faster on a pedal bike, leave that to the stunt people.
The Coral links of "The pictures are quite impressive"
Automatic updates?? That would be interesting...
You'll just pay an annual fee like you do for Norton/Mcafee to have updates
plus
Airtime to download them over your 1X modem(or per MB whatever they charge these days)
marketing: get people to pay for stuff they really don't need

But doesn't work on Windows 98/ME
then extended to owners of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
Alright, I bought CS:CZ. But explain this
What about the people that have already registered their Half Life 2 CD-Keys from the ATI graphics card bundle with steam?
Am I alone in thinking that would be the most logical people to extend it out to first?

Whole new market for the RIAA would be to release special albums that were recorded without the vocals.
I would gladly buy Metallica, Bush, etc if I could only just hear the instruments.
OR use this new DVD-A and have all the vocals on the front centre speaker so I can very easily cancel them out.

I'm interested in trying one of them, anyone have previous experience with them?
Anyone know if the Autobahn highway in Germany still lacks a speed limit?
But it is on the list of cars that turn into a flaming death chamber after a head-on collision...
I always wanted to be cremated
My 1998 Neon isn't on that list ;)
Probably has more to do with whom your connected to (aka who else sends you email, who you send email to) then the actual email itself.
Awesome, I did some googling and found this site that backs up his statement.

Lithium based batteries do not suffer from memory effect. Very cool if I could get this in my UHF radio
Snippet from page for the lazy
Lithium batteries are the only true ' no memory ' batteries. These batteries will never need to be discharged.
The company will initially try to commercialize the technology for using the battery as an emergency power source for computers, according to sources at NEC.
You mean so I can even get first posts when the power is out?
Though I'm curious with something...
Will this be plagued by the Mysterious Memory Effect of Rechargeable Batteries?
