Command Line interfaces only allow control at app startup, whereas macros that can control deep event models (like AppleEvents/AppleScript) can control program state over the life of the app. Very powerful.
Well, the mac or unix ways are quite different, as I understand (never used Macos). If I understand well, in macos, for example, applescript will start the program, fill some cells, print the spreadsheet, and close the program.
In Unix, I would create a script (shell, perl whatever) putting together many small programs (sed, awk, seq, lp...) and have the action done as efficiently and as powerfully as on Macos.
So I think that there is no better way, just different ones.
I know you were trying to be funny, but I some sound cards come (or came ?) with hardware mp3 decoders, although this is now pointless with modern hardware.

You are totally wrong. The point of makefiles (and antfiles or whatever they are called) is to specify the dependencies. So, if your makefile is correctly designed, there should be no problems.
I don't know if its always the case, but my logitech wireless mouse actually does have a wire which runs from the usb port to the transceiver. So I guess using wireless won't clean anything.

No, I will flame you for using silly email adress obfuscation instead of using some spam filtering software.
I am sorry if I have offended you or anyone else and I sincerely apologise.
I was just trying to do a bad joke.
That kind of reminds me of microsoft...

I have a joint degree in CompSci and Philosophy, care to tell me what my niche is? :)
Let me guess... Are you Richard Stallman ?
you're stupid
why the fuck this post ?
I am powerful and famous, in my mother's basement.
And I'm not AC.
There aren't many games for Linux
Quake3 UT2003 AA SOF...
with wine : hl/cs...
Sure, if you don't like FPS, you're stuck.
I've seen sound cards labeled "with MP3!"

I would bet that ALL of the named people were seeking recognition.
I am not sure. At least not at the beginning. For example, Torvalds started linux thinking it will never get widely spread.
What else do you hack for?
You hack for fun ( or else you are a dumbass ).
Well, my 1800+ athlon xp is doing :
Execution starts, 10000000 runs through Dhrystone
total time: 4048ms
Result: 2470355 dhrystone/sec.
with 1.4.2 on linux 2.6, so the macs are far behind...
But that's only a benchmark that does not reflect real life.

although I'd strongly recommend them to use IBM microdrive
hard drives are not reliable enough for these purposes. And what's the point now that 1gb flash disks exist ? Even a normal linux distro would fit.
BTW, I think that spirit is using vxworks and not QNX.
Most (or all) high-end lasers have stappling modules, so that's hardly an issue.
As was said before, the only issue is having to sign multiple times.
Why are you still using a CLI ?
Because I am a member of homo sapiens, who have evolved over years from using pictograms to writing.

BTW aren't you a troll ?
Sun hardware and the Solaris OS are not designed to be pretty
I find both Solaris (more precisely gnome) and the hardware pretty.
Well, it is only a PC with normal, not high-end components, appart from the GPU. And the ultrasparcs are slow (I'm only paraphrasing..)
Still, it's pretty and it is "cool" to have a sun rather than anything more ordinary.
BTW the keyboard I have on the ultra10 I use at work looks exactly like the one pictured, and I don't find it painful.
And it's expensive.
However, if I was given a computer, I would rather have the sun than a similarly-priced pc, despite its disadvantages.
BTW the page I've managed to see before the /. effect was pretty static. I wonder why this guy did use PHP instead of plain html.
perhaps is it more an ulimit or something problem ?
These are two 500 FF (french francs) bills. They were burnt by the french singer Serges Gainsbourg on a TV show.
It caused a big scandal in France a few years ago.
I did _really_ miss the point.
Thanks a lot for pointing this out.
Perhaps don't you realise that 1ghz==1,000mhz and NOT 1ghz==1024mhz ?
This game has a really good AI, and speech synthesis is well done.
