If you download the ad, the network gets paid. Nobody can tell how many eyes watch the stream/file at the receiving end. It could be several pairs. It could be none.
I'll see your IMPERIAL and raise you a WHITWORTH. 2BA forever.
My wife uses a second hand stairlift (10-15 years old). The factory trained expert engineer borrowed my 2BA nutdriver to remove/refit the seat last week.
I can see award of actual damages and costs to the injured party, but why should they receive the benefit of a punishment? Shouldn't the punitive component of the damages go to the state?
I assume you speak of Jean Renoir's "La Règle du Jeu" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0031885/).
You might want to try his "Grand Illusion" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0028950/). It is a bit of an anti-war and class-bashing polemic, but the interaction of the two officers is fascinating.
Nylon screws. Plastic screwdrivers. NO BEVERAGES.
Then name it for his grandfather Colbert.
Unless he is still with us.
Or was caught doing something ungoodthinkful.

There fixed that for you.
If they managed to flatten Norway, it would be huge.
But probably not as pretty.
For a little while.
Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.
Google "Wabi-sabi". Depressing - maybe, but scary - no.

We need to build a launch laser (see "Fourth Profession" by Larry Niven).
Nah,it was obviously running NETBSD (release 10t).
Oh, the servers? They were hosted by the tent.
Next on the news: real sandboxes for real servers.

NETBSD isn't just for toasters anymore.
Straight out of the Robert Sheckley story "Watchbird", part six of the "Masters of Science Fiction" TV mini-series.
Be afraid. Be damend scared.

...where too much is still not enough.

Nothing to look backward to with pride, and nothing to look forward to in hope.

This is also a scary idea.
... can be arranged -- crash it into the Moon.
A small one might become near-surface metal ore for lunar mining.
A large one could de-circularise the Moon's orbit a bit, increasing the potential for tidal power.
We might even get lucky and end up with a pretty ring, like Saturn.
I have an old VMS script I wrote to generate a graphical display a directory tree. From the opening comments:
$! tree.com - show tree structure of sub-directories
$!
$! 6-JUL-1987 wh early version
$! 27-NOV-1997 wh overcome VMS 8-subdirectory limit ?
I am pretty sure there was a version on the DECUS tapes, too.
This is over 20 years old. Any patentability should be pretty much worn out by now.

Perhaps this will encourage the users to send any information of long term importance as attachments, turning the email text into cover letters.
Assuming you can still send, receive, and save attachments. If you can't even attach, put the document on a shared folder and put a link in the email.
Then email retention could be reduced to something like 48 hours after reading.
Since when has anyone expected anything named ".0" to be a stable useful object?
".1" is your friend.

Google should worry more about ISPs selling out to Phorm. Advert re-writing strikes closer to their revenue stream.
Can the Cheetah Flex-Foot be adapted as a running shoe/stilt for runners with feet?
That would give a sensible way to measure the putative performance advantage.
If they are better, this decision should allow all runners to use them.
If they are worse, then they should be allowed, but nobody with feet would bother.
Shouldn't that be "el truque"?

Nothing is ever a total loss; it can always serve as a bad example.

The reason I think literate programming doesn't catch on...
is that it is too much like waterfall.
