Staying up til three in the morning tweaking, doing things in a slightly different order, trying to turn something into something else that by all rights it should never become, and in the end YOU FAIL IT.
ATI seems to be teh suck in this area, but the nVidia drivers can be either page-flipped (the flickery LCD glasses that alternate eyes) or anaglyph (red and green/blue/cyan).
A few months ago I got bored and duct taped two motors to a pair of lab goggles, spinning some cardboard flaps, wired it to a model railroad control box, and played GTA3 in page-flipped mode.
It barely worked, and then only for 3 seconds at a time, but it was worth it. Liberty City is beautiful in 3D.
I didn't actually like Farscape much, but I'm glad it'll get a proper ending. I may not have been a fan, but the final episode was the most painful thing I've ever seen on television.
"Will you marry me?"
"Totally. I'm all kinds of in love with you."
*die*
Hrm...by ending it badly, and then throwing a bone of decency, they're going to get me to watch more, and I'm not even a fan...

WB Cancels Angel

Firefly was brilliant, and Angel really did suck anything presented to it in even the most casual manner...
Futurama and Family Guy are both on Cartoon Network now, warm and snuggly in their Adult Swim womb. They play every weekday, starting at 11 pm, then again at 2 am.
I find most everything on TV unwatchable these days, but Adult Swim is my safe harbor of not-crap.
It seems to take a few tries to get in trouble. I shot the guy training to my right first, and had to start over. I got yelled at, failed to learn my lesson, assassinated my instructor, and then went to prison.
I've spent the last hour getting yelled at in medic training for jumping on tables, looking at other people's papers during tests, and standing up for no reason.
As far as escapist gaming goes though, it might be a little too real. If you talk to the nurses too often, one of them tells you she's married, and the other tells you she has a 6 foot tall, 240 pound boyfriend in Special Forces.
I downloaded it after all you guys mentioned it. Played training for a few minutes. Shot my trainer in the head.
Now I'm in prison.
Seriously. It loaded a map, and now I'm wandering around in a tiny cell, and nothing has happened for five minutes. It's the most brilliant thing I've seen in my life.
I have to put in a shameless plug for the Natural Selection Half-Life mod. They've done a beautiful job with it.
Marines vs. Aliens, playable from each side. Combat mode, where kills and experience earn you equipment/ability purchase points and ranking, or Classic mode, with buildable upgrade structures, where one player becomes an RTS commander to guide the Marines against the more chaotic Aliens.
It's a gorgeous cross between the movie Aliens, StarCraft, and the old game Marathon.
It's on Steam now as a third party game, getting anti-cheat all up in it. Current version is 3.0 Beta, available for anyone to play.
I hoped Vocaloid would blow me away, but it just sounds like the difference between Macintalk Fred, and Macintalk Pro English Bruce.

I had lots of fun with VocalWriter...one of the demos recreates the HAL 9000 death scene, from background hums and clicks, to the pitious wail of "Daisy, Daisy".
Explains dolphins a bit too. Dolphins don't get to sleep in caves and holes like surface mammals, they need to surface to breath, and holding still inthe middle of the ocean too long with your senses shut down makes you extremely edible
But with the ability to shut down one piece at a time, they can let sections rebuild without having to shut down the whole thing.
Like keeping a base system on one of my drives, so if one goes down, I can use the other to fix it without having to futz around with disks.
I'd always heard you burn more energy sleeping than you do when you're awake, but relaxed (watching tv, etc) which isn't all the surprising if the brain is busy rebuilding itself and working on the problems of the day.
IIRC, going 11 days without sleep tends to kill people, so it's definitely doing things vital to your health.
I'd say it was alchemists...

Totally the geek way.
PS2 is pretty closed, but any 3D game that runs through your graphics card can be made stereoscopic if you download the software.
Bam! nVidia Stereoscopic drivers.

The weekly nature might help. Spam tends to come from flase and constantly changing addresses.
Smallville should be cancelled and replaced with Luthor. I would watch that. Religiously.
News to me...

Except Inuyasha, which sucks, and should die.
Is India now a geek-news subject just because of outsourcing?
I'd like to see it end. Watching the Simpsons the last 4 years has been like watching a loved one die slowly of an incurable disease.

There's a harmonica playing.

My first thought was, "Wow, the icon doesn't suck anymore!"
It really is a beautiful little logo.
That is the best first post I've ever seen. I applaud you. *wipes away a tear*
I don't see what niggards would want with carrots...unless they planned to resell them later on.
Women gain distinction too.
The problem, if it could be called that, is that women want men of distinction, and men want hot women.

Stereo animated GIF!
The only thing better than 3D splatter is rotating 3D splatter.
Exploding edibles, what's it all about? Is it good, or is it whack?
Stereo images. Splatter in 2D is nice, but splatter in 3D is heavenly.
Same here. I s;eep from 9 am til 2 pm during weekdays, then on weekends I crash for 14 hours straight, and still don't want to get up.

If you have a car that needs a spoiler, you have a car that can achieve decent acceleration at 100 mph.
