However, i've actually got something useful to thunk.
This is obviously just another sign of the US economy in a state on non-bull market. Not a falling market, just not one that is going up, like it seems to be. Notice that a ton of these jobs are those of basic secretaries? No, nerds, not BASIC secretaries. Anyways, I dont really have a thought, just wanted to add my 6.1 cents.
That was fast. Surprises me, too, since that site is pretty popular and i would assume it would have decent bandwidth. Must be a lot of us interested in this story.
The idea of not selling M-rated video games to minors has already been around for years. Almost all major chains already do this. Making it law will change very little. As for separating violent games from the rest of the games, where exactly would they go? Most stores dont have an incredible amount of room in their video game section. Where would they move them to?
Also, why shouldnt stores be doing this with R-rated movies or Parental-Advisory CDs? Shouldnt any law enacted against adult video games be put into effect against other media?
Slashdot forgot about the time when Acclaim paid a guy to wait 2 months outside a video game store for Turok: Evolution to come out. He camped outside their door for about a week, then he disappeared overnight when the cameras stopped watching him. Got a big media frenzy out of it...if you consider maybe half a dozen game news sites a 'media frenzy'.
the iQue was not a version of the Gamecube. It was a new console that played old N64 and SNES games. The flash cards was inserted directly into the controller, with no 'console', per se. Here and Here contain articles on the iQue. The controller also is remarkably reminiscent of an xbox controller. Thought someone might be interested.
Arent PS2 games region-coded? I believe that you'd have to buy a new ps2 as well, in order to play Chinese games. If i'm not mistaken, region-coding would prevent you from playing Chinese games on your NTSC PS2. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong; i'm genuinely interested now that i think of it. And btw, mandarin is a spoken language.
Microsoft has such ridiculous control over the market that it would take an act of God (namely Bill Gates) to bring it down. Like discontinuing support for its OS's.
Commence flaming.
There are only about 200 theatres nationwide that are doing the marathon. The nearest one for me is 200 miles away. that was sad. i could dig up a list, maybe i'll do that now.
Does he really now? *spoilers* then who bites off frodo's finger in Mt. Doom? Sam? if Sam falls into Mt. Doom with the ring, then who replants all the trees in the shire if Sam (with Lorien-seed) is burning up in Udun? Oh wait, there is no scouring in the ROTK movie (ARGH!); Obviously, you're correct. Why'd you have to go and tell me that, then? Now i'm sad.
*shudder*...i just ran spybot and found a TON of gator stuff. I loved reading their privacy policy...they were saying stuff like 'we reserve the right to use your first name, e-mail address, and the ability to track your internet brosing for sale. we guarantee that we will not give out financial information, last name, or home address or phone number.' thanks for the support, gator!
It would take 500,000 Libraries of Congress to equal five exabytes.
Since when does a 'Library of Congress' qualify as a unit of storage?
Yes, i realize that they were trying to give a comparison, but it looked very odd to me.
Who's modding this stuff up to 'interesting'? This was obviously made to be a humorous comment. Oh well, I guess I wont die from it...or will I?

Internet Explorer patches YOU!
So you're complaining that a handheld system is weaker than a pc? Ever play a GBA?

I've been hardcore into tolkien for quite awhile now, and this has kept me up at night sometimes. Glad to hear that its good.
I was literally yelled at to stop laughing for about 10 minutes after reading that . I thank you for making my day that much better.
