    Agreed, again!

I love the depth of field - and motion blue to an extent - you get that in a human eye, too... but why the hell is there all this sepia toning and film grain? It just looks wrong. I want to feel like I was a soldier who saw that horrific B&W world in full colour.

BUT if the meat eating dwindles, so does the usage of it in biofuels. I feel that that is an important point. They only use as much as is thrown away, no more.

It's more the point that they are not being killed or reared for it specifically. Leather is a bit more of a dodgy one, and I'm not 100% keen on owning leather items (I avoid it if I can), but I feel biofuel isn't directly 'requesting' for an animal to die just so someone can drive the car - it's taking advantage of the fact that people have 'needed' the animals and killed them, and is using the waste wisely. There's a lot to be said for being vegetarian/vegan with a bit of logic and sense, not just pure ITS AN ANIMAL emotion.

  7. Re:No way on Utilizing Bio-fuel Beyond Experimental Use · · Score: 1

I agree. I am a vegan, but I have no problems with using carcasses etc for fuel when they weren't farmed for it in the first place, very much in the same way that I don't have a huge problem with leather, considering it is just a by-product and not part of specific breeding.

I agree with some of nthe sentiment of what you're saying, but there's quite a few arguments FOR this too. A town in darkness/shadow in the winter is likely to have a higher percentage of rather lethargic citizens, which probably doesn't do the economy much good. Whilst a lovely bit of fluffy snow does a lot of good for any economy (people get happy and spend money), the snow is, in most places, accompanied by sunlight, whereas if everything is just... dull and badly lit, it's not going to encourage it, especially if all summer they have had a blinding sun on their town.

I think one of the other children of your posts put it about right that it is also a good way to save on heating and energy bills etc.

It's a difficult choice and obviously not one they just jumped at. There are arguments to support the idea and it's not just a lazy pipe dream.

BUT I cannot fathom how anyone can believe in one religion and not the other. They are all based around some god like being, yet people snub out other religions. It doesn't figure for me at all. Then there's the christians who snub out the numerous gods of greece as 'people in the olden days who didnt know better'....

Religion is a fantasy that people like to hold so they can have hope and because you can't see back in time. Life is just a nothingness. We are only something if we acknowledge we are, and conciousness is defined by OURSELVES... some other being's idea of conciousness could be different, and I fail to understand why people can't see that we are complex enough to see that we exist. It doesn't make us super human.
