Nope, the law is if you're USING the device to recieve broadcasts. IF you're using it for other purposes (Camcorder, DVD player etc) you don't have to pay.

    Good man/woman, agreed.

I have a TV but have nothing in the form of an aerial or lead in my flat, so i don't even get a slight temptation to watch it. the result? Sometimes i can be bored, but instead of watching mindless tv, i sit and read and/or educate myself about something. Not bad really.

I just checked the site. Amazing to see that David (dgl) is still working on that app. I used to help him with testing plus a bit of skinning quite a few years ago now. He's a clever lad and always willing to help.

    The app is also *brilliant*

In Brighton here in the UK, the wireless scene is pretty thriving. We have a few little orgs that provide totally free access. The first, http://wireless.looseconnection.com/ provides access in various cafes and pubs, and another, http://www.piertopier.net/ provides access all along the main part of the beach(!). There's also a few more places providing some in public gardens etc.

It's all free and very well maintained.

And yes, bristol has a great free W network going all the way down park street. I used to live there.

No. it's very, VERY specific and isn't a vague psychology thing. It's a wiring of the brain which means by all definitions, you are in the spectrum of autism. It is of course, much more common among geeks.

The biggest thing about it is that it's something INSIDE the person's head and not always obvious externally. The people who diagnose know what they're talking about.

The climate is great, yes. I don't care about the rain. In fact, what I love about the UK is the localised weather. I used to live below a range of hills (the mendips) inland in somerset and it rained all the time, but had SCORCHING summers.

Now i live far south england in Brighton (flat 300 yards from sea) and we get the most incredible sunsets, beautifully sunny mild winters days, plus very quick showers. I love it.
