  1. Free speech and child abuse on EU Pushes to Limit Internet Speech · · Score: -1

Alright I want to write a guide on how to abuse little girls and boys, my freedom of speech allows me to do so. Do you still agree with this?

Universally we hate child abusers, do they really deserve these freedoms?

Remember every coin has 3 sides but we only show two of them :)

I wish they would get to 1.0 and unite all the client release numbers. Having Mozilla A at 0.7 and B at 0.9 then C at 2.500000 is just annoyed, would it be so difficult to make the next releases all the same? At least you would know when something needed updating (something else would be a higher number)

I'll admit I'm a mecha fanboy when it comes to anime but I don't think slashdot is the place for it. No offence to the guys but you have a link to Anime FU or whatever right on the frontpage, why not post it there? I don't mean to troll or nothing but we're here for geek news, theres enough anime news sites out there for us to goto if we wish. We come here for technology, space and general geek news.

I just don't see slashdot as the right place for this and comparing whatever to open source is really just a check way to plug something through something else. (Notice how slashdot is quite like that geocities site because they both use the internet?).

Sorry but I for one would rather keep slashdot and anime apart

The way I find it easiest to learn is to STFU and do it (no offence but it's how I work best). It's all fine and dandy saying "Microsoft says I can do it and gives me paper", but look at alot of tech support, half of them are useless and the other half spend all their time trying to help the useless staff members.

Get your hands on and use a PC/Mac/whatever it is you want to do as much as you can. It's by far the best way to learn.

Wasn't the guys who did the CG for lord of the rings selling off their machines or something? I think I read something like that on Slashdot. Would be extremely intresting if true. You could in theory (and some luck) view things which they left out the film (who knows what animations they made but never used for people. I can't think of many places which don't have inside jokes and make easteggs based on them. There could be anything from Gollum dancing to hot Legolas sex).

I might be wrong but if I'm not would be worth trying to get hold of one of said machines and have a little play with the old memory box.

That is my exact opinion on church people. but I wasn't trying to flame, I was pointing out that the average teenager wants porn, sex and coffee. They want to click on IE type in URL and look at whatever it is they wish to look at. Not have to learn 2-3 different OS set ups and how each operates and runs.

Remember the average user will type with 1 finger and suck at using mice. The "average teenager" can adapt, but the average teenager doesn't want to spend time doing such things.

This may sound bad but... a cheap windows box maybe better then a mac. Macs are great for people who can use them but when you take the general public (idiots in general hence why we have so many virus problems) and start to mix MS things become messy. Where as Windows is simple for them. Check for new updates once a week, update zone alarm and anti vir. Ta dar you just serviced your network and only needed to download it once.

Also the average church do gooder will have trouble with anything but Windows and I don't see many of us techie types having enough time to dedicate to a full network of PCs for the unexprienced.
