somehow, the standard controllers that were given with the XBox on their launch seems very small compared to the original joysticks you got with the NeoGeo.
The NeoGeo actually felt like bringing the arcade coin-ops in your home , allthough it has never reached any recognition over here (the Netherlands).
The *cough* life-like *cough* version of HanSolo in carbonite is just a big slap of Lego, with credit to the face-part of it.
Further than that, it is as much non-slashdot worthy as this one.
I guess nowadays that if you made a paper-mache hat of DarthVader or Gandalf, you will reach the frontpage.
Within a month, he will release 'A darker shade of grey' : Which will feature the original song lyrics by Jay-Z, and the music will be supplied by... a drum computer : Is that what the EMI people want to keep onto the 'legacy that is the beatles' ?
I'm not to known in 'the scene' : but as far as i know, in rap / hiphop it's common to release either the voice recordings, or the music, alone, so people can fudge about with it.
If you haven't noticed yet : UT2004, allthough very much a fun game, is nothing more than a cheap re-hash of UT2003 : including two more simple gametypes.
After playing the demo, I am seriously doubting if I should be buying a game that could as well be made as a Mod for UT2003.
And yes, of course UT2003 had alot of revamped stuff out of UT, but in the end the whole new look of the engine gave it a totally new feel : Now I just don't know if it's gonna be worth my precious money once the big games are about to release (Doom3 and HL2)
And -all- these people will buy it : Including me and you:P
Ok, less excited now : blahblah : We will still want to play the whole complete game, ifnot the million of mods that will be released for it.
I love the Simpsons, but I don't see how making a movie (in other words, 3 to 4 episodes knitted together) will do any good to the 'legacy'.
Alot of series-gone-to-screen, have been turned into awful products , defenitely if they tried to convert something that is supposed to be lasting half an hour, turn into something lasting one and a half hour.
Imo, if they don't do it in a special way, that won't turn this movie into a 1.5 hour episode, they will hurt the series.
Yep, but the guy also says in his weblog that he does not have the money and/or time to spend on any lawsuit that might start out of this.
He is taking the safe route for now, and taken the whole thing down so he can review the whole situation.
Conclusion: This is nothing more than a FUD story designed to sow the seeds of doubt about Google
To me, it shows the powers of Google : It at least does it job well at what it is supposed to do : Not trying to trick me in visiting accompanied sites.
hehe, i was all with you, untill i read 'I know that my officemates and I practiced with Tribes 2 that way for several hours when we bought the game before we logged into the online servers, and it made a world of difference in our enjoyment.
'
Tribes 2 had the worse AI in years ! THe single player part , as far as i can remember, had 5 missions, and were total sheit:)
Nowadays Counter-strike 1.6 has some nice-ish bots walkig around.
Wow, people still ignorant enough to say there are no cheats around:/
Allthough Punkbuster, for example, updates itself most of the times at least once a week, there are still some (private) hacks that are either slipping though their detection schemes, or are, atm, not possible to track.
I love the game mechanics of Counter-strike, but as said by the poster, it has been ruined by cheaters over the last couple of years, despite several attempts of VALVe to stop 'em (if those attempts are any good, is not for me to judge)
Still, the game mechanic of Counter-strike is very inviting to new players.
I would suggest getting a good game-server-browser , AllSeeyingEye for example (get it at www.udpsoft.com)
Then randomly connect to some servers, and see if you can find any adminned servers around.
Allthough i have not been playing CS for months now, it is the only chance of seeing me play it : On a well-adminned server.... Then again, most cheats are too invisible to be even pinpointed these days.
The danger arises when something goes wrong in someone's mental development and that person comes to believe that people's lives *in reality* are worth nothing, just like in videogames.
Er, when I kill off a whole block of gangmembers in GTA3, it will defenitely earn me some points : so they aren't exactly worth nothing;)
You know it's a sad state of affairs when someone has to put a disclaimer at the bottom of thier website about the DMCA. Its really a bummer that you can't just do anything to the things you own anymore. Just how useless does this make things? Oh wow another game system. Or COOL, my game system can do this and this and this! The only reason I bought a Dreamcast was for haXorability, and all the cool software people were writing for it. And it's the cool things like this that make me want to buy a game cube.
I think you answered your own question : They don't want people getting close to running thirdparty software on a console : The gamesales is where the profit lies.
Personally, for the GC, i don't think they mind when someone is making a server out of it.
One might counter that, and just say it's maybe one of the best first person shooter games (single player wise) that has come around.
If we talking bout longest lives of video games we would probably have to look at either Pong, Pacman, Space Invaders : As they are still being played to this day.
Hell, i even play Space Invaders at least once a week one my 2600:) Great multiplayer:)
It's called a pen-mouse :P

Or we could also save $4000 by not paying such a ridicilous ammount for a crystalline form of carbon.
How bout a digital camera ? :P

But if we talking bout anti-cheat software, they are Punkbuster, and VAC (VALVe Anti Cheat).
As said, nitpicking ;)

No offense to the US IT , but I think that the eastern mentality towards working/bosses are a bit more serious than in the US/Europe.
were subjected to mushroom policies, they grew quite big though ;)

VALVe calls it the 'Source engine' though.
