I absolutely love Picasa. But I am not sure here we are talking about just a desktop application. I just hope Google buys Media Monkey (one of the very few proprietary s/w I use - even in its free version, its fantastic) and get done with the desktop application part.
What is more important is the supplier aspect of this. What labels will it be? What and how much of Indie stuff? What all formats? Will it be better than Amazon in terms of content and delivery?
Are you sure? Unless I have missed something, I think songbird has nothing to with google at all, and the only Mozilla connection was xulrunner platform.

That's a good start. Now go ahead and change your music player too, to something better. I know this post will be downmodded real fast, but if anybody is interested, do a sound comparison of ipod against, say, iriver, with any same earbuds/headphones and hear the difference yourself.
I remember doing this - it's fun till it lasts and when it's over, you really have lost big.
Also, saw a regular looking dude at one of AC casinos, walking in straight at the roulette table, with about 800$ in hand. He was doing the same doubling-down and started with 50$. He was straight out of the door with nothing after 4 rounds. All it took was about 5 minutes.
I had this problem (I had taken about 8 months off before I got into my current contracting position) when two recruiters tried to bridge the gap. I flat out refused to either change the resume myself or let them change it on my behalf. Of course, it was good they mentioned it to me rather than doing it themselves and sending it out without letting me know.
One of the two was so bad I just told them not to look for any position for me. He was hell bent that I change my dates and make it appear I am still working.
What I learnt was that if YOU are not comfortable with your recruiter, find a better one. In the end, they all will be competing to get their candidates the same job.
>>... Apple fanboi losers come back days later when no one is reading it and mod down. Has happened without fail to any post where I've criticised Apple lately.
You are spot on. Have had it happened so many times, I generally post on Apple threads anonymously. Any wonder why you see so many 'anonymous' 'trolls' on Apple threads? They are not really trolls, but at least they wont get direct karma hits with zealots are out with their pitch-forks.
If we take facts into account, I think you are wrong. (Hint - spain)
And in no way I am in favor if killing a single human, but I think whatever happened was reciprocation (right or wrong, I am not in favor of any) of certain foreign policies of certain western nations. Nobody is innocent here.
If you think that number is too high, here is something for reference: "NJ TRANSIT provides nearly 223 million passenger trips each year."
Agree, NJT runs multiple lines and buses. But if you think 94M is too many, you are wrong.
And the irony is that, Ensemble were able to calculate thousands of scenarios and permutations/combinations to break the 10% barrier (a significant achievement), but they failed to take into consideration a very basic scenario that their final submission might be tied/inferior. Yes, they tested it against the quiz set, but there was no guarantee they would have got same result against the test set.
From what I read, Netflix is implementing two or three 'parameters' or 'methods' (out of possibly thousands the teams may have used) for now. (Can't find the link atm)
Error in data entry != error in algorithm.
In fact, TFS does not even mention any algorithm.
But I can understand your desire to get first post. And you can't bother to read TFS if you want to get first post, can you?
well, if you stop sucking and being an apple fanbois, we may take you a bit more seriously then your bold 'general knowledge' statements.
That explains why Britney Spears is regarded one of all time best singers!!
Wait, you must be one of those people suffering from so much inferiority complex that they have to follow the majority to feel good about themselves.
Unfortunately, yes. And that's a pity. As much as I like Amarok on my Ubuntu, sometimes, I just wish MM was available.

You are dreaming. They simply can't - even if they want to.

From who? I think this favors the record labels (and Apple) more than anybody else.

Touche!
A murder says he is not a murderer? Of course! It has to be true!!!

Steve, take care of your health first. At least don't post on Sundays, for fuck sake!

Do you any pattern here? UK and the US. Two countries with stupidest border security checks at the ports. Both leading "war" against terrorism.
Looks to me that the "war" is already won - by the terrorists.

Actually, going by the bullshit he has accumulated on this thread, we will need -100 "send this one to oblivion" mod.

Pass me some of what you are smoking.
On second thought - no, just keep it to yourself.
>> bugger if I can remember what they call themselves though
One of the three - Goth, Indie or Hipster
This article has some interesting details on the ratings, and people's behavior of what and how they rate movies (from the target database of the netflix contest) - http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/sep2009/tc20090921_645345.htm
It's funny and sad at the same time!
