I agree. It's like the EZ=Pass thing. I was a big skeptic thinking that that RFID tag and the fact that a SERVICE I pay for could be used against me (ie: track my average speed between tolls and automatically ticket me if it's significantly over the speed limit), but then I realize that the convenience of the pass outweighs the costs. I don't speed, so why should I be worried about it. Same with the cameras. Why worry about it if you aren't doing anythign illegal?
Free to you...Yeah yeah you watch the ad and you click the ads, but it's virtually free to you. And it's a service to you. A free service to you. That don't have to pay for this website with ad revenue or with anything else. They can just shut it down.
Remember though, these editors are providing a free service to you unless you're subscriber. So can't get mad at EVERY little thing that annoys, right?
yeah. you can make some cool degrees of separation game or something by using wikipedia. i have to try that everything 2 though. it just seemed a bit weird to me
Wikipedia (and affiliates) should be on that list because the interface is clean. It's easy to get around and go off on tangent while searching something. It's open...and it's educational. I learned a lot of cool facts.
Like where the "All your base are belong to us" come from. And yes, ive just proved that I am not worthy of reading Slashdot because I didn't know wtf that came from.
yeah, but i'm not l33t with X11. It was too much of a hassle for me because I had school to worry about. I just used Office on my PC. but I eventually want to get a mobile solution for this Powerbook. I just want to be able to launch it from the dock and use it. I'll use OpenOffice X11 if it can integrate with OS X pretty well. Any tutorials or apps that make this easier?
when will they release something like this for the Mac? I have a few open source programs, but I want something that runs natively in OS X and does what OpenOffice does. Anyone have any suggestions?
If customers buy responsibly and if NetMD/OpenMG was any indication of how tight sony's DRM is, they shouldn't do so well against Apple. Apple has the advantage of the iPod and the fact that its players hold loads more music than an MD (which you have to burn) or a Memory Stick (which you burn your money buying). sony is just too restrictive when it comes to things. I couldn't even upload a recording I made via NetMD. I had to use a freaking optical out cable and manually record it. Who wants restrictions like that?
I wonder what they will get on the street for those parts. Or more importantly who would buy them/hire them to steal those. Or maybe they have their own plot for speeeeeeedy interent domination. Maybe they wanna mod their honda civic like the guys in the AOL Topspeed commercial. Hints?
Why does America have so much control over the 'net these days? It's not a research experiment anymore. It is a way of life. Gotta let it grow even if it's not in all the best interests...

Gmail for the first person to use it. I guess I'll lose karma for this, but I'm not nerdy enough to care.Free to you...Yeah yeah you watch the ad and you click the ads, but it's virtually free to you. And it's a service to you. If open source for the masses is to succeed, this is the kind of user to appeal to.

I work in the entertainment industry (not music)
I hope you don't work in California. And if you do, you better check this out.
