This is actually WAY overkill for robot-building. The one i'm working on uses a freescale HC12 microcontroller at 24mhz, and it's plenty of power. This would be better for home server stuff and the like.
But Bittorrent IS a deadly weapon! The [RI,MP]AA told me that Rock Stars and Movie Stars could starve to DEATH because of Bittorrent!!! Won't you please think of those poor, poor celebrities?
I agree with you that it's the parent's fault, but most american (i am one) children will take in all the fast food they can. it's in our advertising, our culture, and most importantly, our school cafeterias.
If he were to implement a system like this, i'm sure he'd use a secure sandbox. When teaching programming courses, anything more complex then "hello world" should be run as part of the grading process.

I use slacke17 and i must say, it is easily the most beautiful desktop i've ever seen, even with very little tweaking.
