    OK.... For all you who missed the Freedom/French toast/fries joke... It's an oblique reference to WWII, when anti-germanism made people change names like "sauerkraut" to "liberty cabbage", or hamburger to "liberty sandwich" because they're words with a german root. It's like the french are the enemy, like the germans were. Anti-french beliefs. :)

    Isn't the Moon 1/6 of a G? Hardly Jupiter there, buddy.
    It would be even more hazardous to my knowledge because if you screwed up even a few dozen feet per second redirecting the asteroid, the cumulative effect would be disasterous for Earth unless we were fast enough on the draw to stop it. Not to mention, how do we get to the Asteriod belt with enough force to pick an asteroid and push it into Earth orbit if we can't even get off the moon because (according to you) the gravity is "too heavy"
    On side note, have you been playing Homeworld (asteroid redirection) or Hardwar (linear accelerator) or what?

    Then why do I have to do exposure checks when I run 50w at my station? If you're constantly exposed to RF for days and weeks and years at a time, every time you went outside, yes, I think it would harm you. Maybe not at first, but when it gained widespread use....

    The reason is that we take care of the community in case of emergencies. In most cases, if something happens, hams are on the scene within 5 mins. We can relay messages in virtually no time (provided there's no other way to communicate) and basically are just there in emergencies.
