I hate to use the phrase "site whore", but that is essentially what he is doing. I feel the same way when anyone else uses the same dishonest tactic. There is no need for a middleman in the process when slashdot is already providing this service.

I can completely see where you are coming from. Yes, slashdot does something similar. But 99% of the articles that slashdot links to are original content, where the originator PROFITS (through advertisements) from the link from slashdot (or in some cases loses tons of money from the extra bandwidth, but that is bit beyond the matter at hand).

If Roland wants to provide the information that he provided, he could have submitted what he wrote on his website instead of a summary. There is no reason for him to profit from the click-throughs. It's shady, and dishonest.

No, I am not a programmer. I am not saying that their comparison to MS was wrong. I am saying that they didn't do a full investigation. They just make a blanket statement of microsoft having a new bug every day, and I in turn said that with 985 bugs it gives linux a new bug everyday for 3 years. That is pure logic.

On top of that, I know that no program is error free. I know that no matter how many peer/code reviews you do, you will always find a flaw. The fact that this code review was done by humans shows that it is fallible, just like everything that is man made (including windows!).

This is the kind of project that the W3C needs to take on right now, and then IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.. could all be on equal footing. Web designers/developers could sleep easier knowing that no matter what they do, its all going to look and operate the same no matter what the end user is browsing with.
