Unfortunately for this to work seamlessly service providers and backbones would have to implement the standard protocol. This would enable streaming what we currently consider cable TV much easier. It does not solve on demand problems, but would create a similar experience to current viewing habits.
But I don't see it ever happening, because if you are in the business of selling data you don't want to make delivering data exponentially more efficient.
I am currently in the process of moving over 100 domains away from NetSol to Hover. I'd used NetSol since I started getting domains in the 90s, but it has changed from a trusted institution on the web into a scam. Everything is an up sell, and everything is designed to confuse you into buying things you don't need. One personal example. Last year I set up a client on a basic WordPress account, but later wanted to move the domain. They would not let us access the.db file until we upgraded the account. They wouldn't give us our own data!
So now I am going to through the multi-stage process of moving all these domains, waiting days for each authorization code. These guys are crooks, so stay the fuck away from ever doing business with them. And if you have domains there, run away!!!
By voting. We have incredibly low voter turn out rates. And yes here comes the "both sides are the same so why vote" argument. Alright, then get involved in politics in some way. Most people don't participate, then claim there's nothing that can be done.
To a certain extent I agree with you, but I would point out that there hasn't been a major election since the majority of this news broke. It will be interesting to see how much of a role these issues will play in the next election cycle.
I like to point this out too. Before digital technology people were criticized for being "bookworms", or if you were reading in public you had your "nose stuck in a book".
I also remember my family each taking a section of the newspaper and reading it, sometimes pointing out articles to each other. It was great. And it is no different than me reading my iPad while my son reads his.
Actually that is not the case. I just started working on a project with several very well regarded tech firms in SF, and they all said the same thing about LinkedIn. If you don't have a profile, you don't exist. Not saying I like that, or want it that way. But trust me, companies that matter do use LinkedIn whether we like it or not.
Tesla is not banned from Texas, they are banned from having dealerships. I just test drove (and will probably buy) the Tesla sedan last Friday here through the Tesla showroom at the Domain in Austin. I now have to simply go online and order one, and it will be delivered right here to Austin, Texas. In addition Tesla has an agreement with a local repair shop for any servicing, and they are building a charging infrastructure here in the state. So you can't say they've been banned, only that they have been prevented from having a tradition all in one place solution.
And I find it so amazingly ironic that all of the Republicans in this state who pontificate about the free market and demonize regulation would fight to keep the dealership system. It is exactly the kind of regulation they usually abhor, and prevents the capitalist system from working. The hypocrisy is unfortunately sadly predictable for those on the right in Texas. This is the same group that has passed a voter ID law to suppress the voting rights of the disadvantaged, even though in the last ten years there have only been 4 cases of voting fraud that could have been stopped with the ID law.
There's no way this is ever going to get the big stamp of approval. If Paramount did launch a new TV show, I would be shocked if it wasn't based on the JJA universe. Why in the world would they want to introduce the confusion of two separate Trek universes being marketed at one?
Yes I can. There were plenty of people that volunteered for active duty service, including John Kerry whose service was questioned by W. If W had wanted to see combat, he could have. He choose not to.
As a internet wanker posting from my own basement I'd say this,
a) He never flew off of carriers, and joined the National Guard to avoid actual combat service. There is also every indication that he went AWOL during his service to avoid drug testing. b) As the son of the family he was in (at that time in American history), getting into those places is not that big of accomplishment. c) He beat Ann Richards who was only the Governor of Texas for one term because her opponent completely screwed up his election. Bush was also riding the wave of change in the state that led to the craziness of Tom Delay and the current absurdities going on in our lege. d) He didn't win the popular vote in his first election, and won his second election (barely) exploiting terrorism and gay marriage fears.
And yes I am Democrat, and yes I think W was a terrible president who thoroughly screwed up this country. I do not however think all Republicans are "stoopid". I do think the current crop of leaders such as Boehner and Cantor are not statesman or leaders like Bush Sr, James Baker, or going further back Eisenhower. But the Republican party has been hijacked by extremists, and GWB left our country in economic and foreign policy disasters. So yeah, I think he's an idiot.
I've always wondered why we as Americans never consider what our actions would look like if the roles were reversed. What would be our reaction to Chinese aircraft carriers cruising up and down the west coast? What would be the response to Mexico flying drones over our airspace, and killing individuals they claim they have a right to kill? Or most of all, how would Americans feel about any foreign troops being based on our soil? The answer is the same for all of the scenarios, there would be utter outrage.
