I was thinking along those lines too... Offhand, I'd say 'Run Around' would be the best match, perhaps. (Takes place on venus, robot stopped for various reasons, essential and tricky that robot be retrieved)
But the strategy relies on being able to separate males from females, as sterile females can still transmit malaria. The problem is that, unlike some insects, the larvae are very difficult to sex.
Making the male larvae fluoresce solves the problem, and in fact makes them so easy to spot that the process can be automated. The researchers used a machine similar to a flow cytometer that had already been adapted to sort fruit flies.
How does one raise 900 million through "fundraising" that quickly? I somehow doubt it was through selling candy, which what we little high school clubs generally do.
Almost nothing, admittedly. There are of course a few bugs, but the main thing that people want with a new version is more modability of it. And too, people complain about the graphics, they want those to be better too. (I like them fine , personally)
The 'new game' that I'm hoping to get out of this modability is a remake of Alpha Centauri, a futuristic version of Civilization (both created by Firaxis).
There are quite a few people over at Apolyton.net that are hoping to be able to accomplish this. In general, it's a subject that's been actively dreamed about for months (over a year perhaps).
Would the inclusion of DHTML mean the ability to implement the CSS filters like glow and shadow for text?
I was recently looking into why the filter tag doesn't work in Firefox, and learned that it's actually DHTML. Exploring the question on the Firefox help forums, I learned that these features, (shadows at least) were likely to make it into 1.5 (next version).
Perhaps this means that Firefox was negotiating with IBM to get this code?
I'm very surprised neither Sims or Sims 2 did not make the list...
One of the Diablos should have been there as well, I think they're a better choice than Baldur's Gate...
Starcraft as high as it is... I absolutely agree:)
There were too many good Mario games.
I'd have thrown in a Pikmin too...
Perhaps the question should be 'how much spyware?'
I'm willing to admit I probably have spyware/adware on my computer. It plain and simple doesn't affect me, however. I run adaware perhaps once a month and I get 1 or 2 files per month... So techinically I'm often 'infected,' but it sure isn't hurting me.
So of course, the article is using faulty logic in saying that the number of computers with spyware is equal to the number of computers noticably affected by spyware...
The plan WAS to get all these linux penguins playing tag, but they never quite got started. The rules consulted on Wikipedia.org were changed from moment to moment.
It would be nice if/. had gotten it right that it was Viacom that bought Neopets...
Viacom owns MTV, and VH1, and Nickelodeon and a bunch of other franchises. Hopefully they won't significantly screw the site over.
Yes, I'm a closet player, yes I'm male, yes i know a lot of people my age (late teens) who play. The majority of those who are committed to the game seem to be male.
Quite similar to Sosumi, the name of team 1015's 2005 robot for the First Robotics Competition.
There were some weird names during brainstorming a name....
I don't know when the last time you were involved with FIRST, but I believe it has been a recent (3 or 4 years) change in which the "game" has a set time period that is autonomous only.
There is also the encouraged use of sensors to refine control, and of course, there's the limited space for code.
I practically worship this sport because I found my engineering calling through it.
Teams REALLY depend on sponsor money as well. There are multiple regional competitions, each of which costs about $4000 (or more?) to enter. The students are often responsible for primarily fund raising for the hotel stays, tshirts and other stuff.
Totally worth it.
I think part of the problem with TB popularity is the current fad of using Gmail... Even though I assume the two are compatible.
My biggest problem with the FF/TB setup is that FF can't tell me if I have new messages unless TB is an open window... Either way, iirc, TB already announces itself anyways.
The best thing that I've found to do with them is to use them as targets for archery practice, (or i suppose, firearms practice). They break into so many shining pieces if you hit them just right.

There should be a chameleon named after Michael Jackson's ever changing nose.
Guess my school is really deficient in nerds.

Now if someone could make me some bike wheels with rings and spokes like that (minus the gas though).
That will of course confuse most people... but sci fi readers should be in the know.
No, I did not RTFA.
I swear, I haven't heard that word since elementary school... After hearing about if for a few years, no one gives a damn about how bats get around.
Hasn't been that way for the last 6 patches (1.01-1.06), iirc.

"Give the cat fresh food!"
*Meow!!*
And just like real Tigers, the owners could be in trouble if it escapes early...
Who the heck wants her to be president? I'd prefer Bush any day. Good thing 08 is my first Prez election year :)
