The blackout, while annoying was made far worse by the media than it actually was. My power was out for more than 25 hours so I opted to read a book instead of bitch and complain. Perhaps others were affected in a manner worse than I, but I imagine there are others in this world that go through far worse every day.
I agree the system has problems that need to be addressed as I do not know how long hospitals/fire/police can last on battery power but this really seems like the media wanted to drag it out too long again until the next big story came along.
If you export your bookmarks to a file and back it up then this may not be as much of an issue for you.
I realize this doesn't fix the issue but if it does happen often enough then it is likely a bug (or a bad joke being played on you;))
I have in the past submitted bugs and had a response sent to me. The bugs have since been addressed.
Not to flame IE but I think the features (security, tabs, popups... the list goes on) that are provided in mozilla far outweigh any issues I have ever come across in the time that I have been using mozilla.
I think linux is pretty good for the desktop. My only real compaint is not really the lack of support for newer hardware, but more the difficulty in getting this hardware to work properly.
For example, if I could just install linux and have it autodetect my wireless nic and work properly with my scanner then I would be all for it.
Is it not obvious that there would be something like this associated with their service? They are offering far more than the norm as far as space for the email is concerned (I believe 5mb is roughly the norm).
How naive would someone have to be to believe that they are simply offering 1gb to anyone and everyone for absolutely nothing in return.
I don't think it was RedHat's open source model or subscription model that has made them successful. I believe it was because back in the day they had one of the easiest installers to use which gained them market share. If debian or slackware had "better" installers then who knows which distro would be the "redhat" of today.
Not trying to start a distro flame war here. I personally prefer slackware but this is just how I see it.:/
I wonder if it is all coming from the space station. There must be a lot of crap up there now... unless decaying orbits take care of that sort of thing?
Perhaps it is a sneaky astronaut out there snapping pieces off to frighten the others... All in good fun.
Perhaps these are the pesky folks behind the Half Life 2 source code theft and the Windows source code theft and now their search engine includes LANs.
Not trying to bash redhat but dropping support for = redhat 8 does not seem like a very wise decision. People got upset at the mention of MS dropping support for Win98 and that is 6 years old now.
How many issues would be resolved by simply using an alternate browser (mozilla for example)?
I know this would not fix all of the problems but I am sure it would help some.
Canada Post does this now with a lot of companies (Sears, Phone...) so you can have your bills emailed to you instead of having them mailed to you. I have been using it for a while now and have had no problems.
I am a little unclear as to how the company is being victimized. I would understand if the signal to their paying customers was degraded due to the extra users but I do not believe this is the case.
To me it just looks like the company is having a temper tantrum because they were denied access into another country. Is that not more arrogant than the guy running the site?
even
...would do
Episode III: Toy Story
Perhaps he could just call the new movie:
Episode III: CGI
Trying to put an end to spam seems to me like software companies trying to end piracy.
People always seem to find new ways around things.
As bad as it sounds I don't think there will ever be an end to spam without white listing.
I hope I am wrong.
I agree that the app "SHOULD NEVER DELETE OR CORRUPT ITS OWN DATA".
Perhaps if you had read the rest of the comment you would have come across the part where I mention bugs and how they do sometimes get fixed.
That was my point.
I have submitted bugs and my bug report was responded to and eventually fixed.
I am assuming it was the stable release 1.6 that you were using and not something older?

It started as google.com, not google.org

If we could only restrict xxx ads/pop-ups/flashing banners to .xxx sites...
Shouldn't that read "8GB Xbox memory units"?
Is this the same issue or a new one? The freebsd one was released over 2 weeks ago.

Now that monitors are dirt cheap perhaps it will start to catch on more.
Continental drift is faster than my grandmonther.
We may even resort to scanning change if need be.

I have recently picked up the Definitive Collection on laserdisc which came with a laserdisc player for $130 (CAD) on ebay.
:)
The quality may not be as good as the DVD but Solo shoots first.

We are talking FreeBSD here.... not Linux ;)
Perhaps this will finally bring about the end of the idiotic "BSD is dead" posts around here. ;)

I use Royal Bank and it works fine with FreeBSD, Linux and it is a Canadian bank.
