The assertion AC made (along with other "religious" types) is based on the the acceptance that the singularity was "just there", and that abiogenesis "just happened". Many call this acceptance faith.
I don't think I would actually call it faith, but something more along the lines of, "We don't know. We're fine with that right now. Some day, we hope to discover the answers for the origin of the singularity and the facility of abiogenesis. But, whatever the case, we're sure it's not God."
There is free market capitalism in the US. The problem is, most of it is in the fast food business. The few ISPs that have the go-ahead from the cities aren't interested in improving their offerings, and the small WISPs that fill in the gaps are either unable to do any better, or only willing to match the status quo.
What difference does it make? I use KDE (this week), and all my GTK programs still run fine. There are no compatibility issues to worry about.
You used the word "deploy", which makes it seem like you're concerned with having many systems with identical desktop configurations. In that case, just install the one you prefer to manage. There are many to choose from, including mate ('sudo apt-get install mate').
Actually, Blendtec is located in Utah County (home of BYU). Statistically speaking, he's probably not an advocate of cremation (or postmortem blending) -- most mormons aren't.
Couldn't agree more. I go 3 days a week, and usually run once or twice over the weekend. Also, at the box I go to, we just had six weeks of Paleo challenge. I'd been told that fitness is 80% dietary and 20% exercise. I don't know if that ratio is accurate, but I saw huge results from those six weeks and would definitely recommend incorporating good nutrition into anyone's fitness plan.
Did you do CF Open WOD 13.2 today? I got 4 rounds + 5 reps.
I would argue quite the opposite. If we're all using the same tools, much of the motivation of innovating is removed. If Apple open-sourced iOS, would Android have come about so quickly? Sure, it could have, but this would be in spite of iOS's hypothetical openness. Would the new jobs that Android OS and phone development created have happened? Not likely.
The uDraw is capacitive, not resistive. I know, because I work for the company whose capacitive ASIC is in the uDraw.
Also, anyone who's signed their signature at a point of sale terminal (credit card swipe machines in grocery/hardware stores) that isn't resistive, has seen prior art.
If the store owner kept five Lamborghinis and a private jet, and vacationed with Jay Z and Beyonce, then your hypothetical store model would be a bit more accurate.
Nice. Of all the states on the East coast, NH, the freest state would be my first choice in which to live. I've never been there, but will definitely have to pass through (at the very least) on the way to a Niagara Falls visit, or something.
For one thing, Valve is porting Steam to Linux, along with some of their games. This has not been done before. I think this is the obvious reason -- they weren't even trying before. Now they are.
From the Deseret News, no less.
That's not what the mod system is for.
It may encourage vigilance (different from vigilantism), and even result in a credible tip. Why assume the worst?
Such anger.

Sony's offering in Japan is... also capitalism.

Bullshit
James Bond, nothin'. It's time for Psy to kick some ass. :)
Don't rush him. Kim Jong Jr. has the muscle shirt on, and the Def Leppard cranked -- phych-ing himself up for the right moment.
(Or, maybe he's waiting for a phone call with the go-ahead)
More likely Windows CE.
If we're all going 120 down the highway, each car monitoring its proximity to its neighbors and continually making adjustments, why would you want to?
What the hell are they going to do when we're all in autonomous vehicles that always obey the speed limit and their revenue stream dries up?
(Actually, I don't even think we'll need speed limits once autonomous cars are commonplace -- at least, not on highways)
Right there with you. I ))HATE(( KIO for samba and end up just using mount.cifs for anything serious.

$uck it, Micro$oft.

Don't you have to crack the WPA2 before you can find one of the valid mac addresses?
You know, you could have just said "platypus." You didn't have to get all pretentious and shit.
What'chu talkin 'bout, Willis?

Prior art here

Same story here -- except for the military ID. Everything went smooth and, thanks to Mia Love, I was able to vote straight (R) ticket this time.

How is this greed?
