CrapCleaner! cleans crap from your PC! temp files, MRUs, deletes invalid registry stuff. Whenever I use it, it usually free's up ~1GB on my hard drive! quite amazing how much crap there is on XP
yeah sounds wonderful, if YOUR the one doing 60+ over the limit, and your car relays that to a access-point style thing, every quarter of a mile and a few days later, the fine and points arrive through the mail.
that scares the hell out of me, to be honest.. but this may be down to my own lack of understanding:
what if "terrorists" or other malicious somebodies somehow managed to blow one up, and it somehow made itself into a miniture chernobyl?
or if it blew, and set off next-doors reactor, which sets off the apartments nearby, which also have reactors etc etc etc. the whole town chain-reaction!
I dunno much about the failsafe things on these, and how you actually get one to go boom though. so this may be a non-issue.
I dont fear nuclear reactors, on their own and left to function correctly they rarely go wrong and are actually pretty damn safe. I just dont trust the people that could maybe get access to them
Combining a standard internal-combustion-engine with an electric generator, and motors (which can also be run in reverse, when coasting / braking, thus returning the kinetic energy back into electrical power) is exactly the same idea, as Toyota have come up with in their family car, the "Prius" which is called the "Hybrid Synergy Drive"
I have driven a prius about 4 times now, and have managed to average, at "99.9 miles per gallon" as it says on the display. albeit, ive only managed that to last about 10 minutes, when doing around 40mph, on relatively flat land, but still its pretty damn good fuel economy
reminds me of the film "Gattaca" where most people are genetically engineered, before their born and yes, there was an athlete in that film.. but he broke his neck or something, and became wheelchair bound..
"Wait, before you comment about the duct tape, this was a temporary setup to see if it would work. The camera will be mounted using velcro when its finished."
uhm, and robots dont need shoes maybe? im sure they can make Robots feet far more durable than most shoes (altho some shoes are pretty durable, -workshop environment ones for example..)
ive got a pair of shoes upstairs, steel-toecap, and have a type of plastic on the bottom that can tolerate 300 degrees C for like 45/60 seconds or something? not that ive ever tested them:O
I think if everyone has an HDTV/Phone/PDA/Wristwatch/HiFi/kitchen sink/you-name-it, its not necessarily a good idea.
I can see it now, we'll end up IM-ing via PGP secured messaging service, to someone sitting opposite them, because of the 'security issues / privacy' of an analogue conversation..
From that post, it sounds very much like you want phones to be cheaper, -ie not bumping up costs, on things you dont want.
and then you mention y'd happily purchase an Apple product..
which to me, means paying loads extra, to not have those features.
I think someone pointed that laser at his webserver!
BSPlayer for movies, its fast and fairly lightweight. theres free, and non-free versions on the BSPlayer site
SmartFTP - n00b friendly FTP client - free for home/non-commercial use

I dont mind about PSU fires, to be honest.. the PC isnt held against the side of my face, unlike a phone.

if thats all true, that guy sounds like he has a serious problem with Obsessive Compulsive Behavior
Well, I find it weird everytime someone mentions yahoo and POP3.
I still use POP3 on Yahoo! and it doesnt cost me a penny, -but my account is indeed very old so maybe its because of that.
whisky?? well, I dunno if it makes good anti-freeze, i'll take your word for it.
but surely all the vaso-dilation it causes on your blood vessels, sure your blood wont freeze but you'll probably die of hypothermia instead!
Great, so we can get all those lovely windows viruses!

I looked at the sample / demo area of the post it notes thing.. there was some really weird stuff in there!
I guess that kinda thing is handy if you dont have your own hosting or something?
lol, thats pathetic! and like you say.. they still dont get it.
its just adding more code to windows, making it even bigger, and slower than before without really doing very much at all.
sounds very much like a MS Update to me!
Only if you actually believe we landed on the moon, that is... /me runs and hides

The orbital velocity at 70000000000.00 kilometers is 0.00 km/sec! The period of the orbit is 3071888463277.06 minutes.

personally though, I wouldnt want a PC that looks like a bug.. people would swat it at lan parties, in revenge after you frag them
um, and if it aint just about transfer rates; May I enquire one thing?
what else are you looking for in a hard drive.
please share your wisdom, so n00bs and the alarming techies may know..
