They continue to receive government funding and bailouts even they have no plan to ween themselves off of government funding they have been receiving since the 70s. Furthermore, even with the all of the government funding that they have received over the years their service is HORRENDOUS and this is coming from someone who used Amtrak for almost 6 years when I was in college and then for two years after I graduated. Now apply the same logic to anything propped up by the government and you will join us libertarians. People complain that public schools suck, but they think the only answer is to spend more money on them. If you only knew how poorly school funds are handled- it only gets worse with the bureaucracy mandating how they must spend their money.

Rather than trying to fix broken systems by adding more money and rules, let's start weaning them off of government funds and see how they adapt and become better.

The same concept can be applied to the RIAA and MPAA. Those corporations want to cry to the government and ask for protection of their broken distribution system rather than learn to adapt.

Pull out of Iraq, allow citizens to opt out of social security, and eliminate the federal income tax. We can make this country a lot better by removing the tax money that people bicker over - and let's be honest, the people that have enough resources to fight and lobby for hand-outs are the ones that don't need the help.

At least when you use the Wiimote + nunchuck, you don't have to hold both hands together in front of you. THAT is innovation. Kudos to Nintendo for getting that aspect right. I think they should come out with PS3 and 360 controllers that are separated for each hand and joined with a cord.

To compare, play GTA4 on the PS3 and then Mario Kart on the Wii (with nunchuck). Basically, the same type of controls, but one forces you to ruin your hands and sit up intensely.

The cops ended up chasing me around the block. My car came to a complete stop several times due to immobile objects in my way - I couldn't even drive slowly it was so wobbly.

Before the booze wore off, I got a message that said, "You left your friend behind!" Mission failed.

I agree with the people that say MADD should endorse this aspect of the game, because I've never, ever had such a hard time driving tanked as I have in GTA4. While it's a pretty good simulation of what it's like, it's definitely not THAT hard.

I was merely pointing out that the iTunes/iPod monopoly on online music is entirely due to DRM, while Steve Jobs speaks against DRM. The motivation behind this seemingly illogical move is similar to the hypothetical situation of Microsoft purposely proving DRM to be 'bad' by discontinuing their servers. The other facts aren't really pertinent to this discussion.

Am I incorrect in my assumption that you can't play other online stores' DRM formats on the iPod, and that you can't play Apple's DRM format on other portable players?

It doesn't really matter that Apple 'appears' to want to do good. What matters is the reflection of the current market.
