Repositories are fine, albight there are some that should not be mixed (livna and dag's one)
I've not heard this before - why shouldn't you mix them?
I've had trouble in the past with YUM, and it always seemed to be down to how yum.conf was set up - probably due to me not knowing exactly what I was doing, and just monkeying with it until it worked.
Apart from that (and some other minor annoyances) FC3 is amazing.
From what I hear, that's the case in South Africa - famous for carjacking. Now they kill the driver rather than just take the car. The logic being if getting caught either way will lead to life behind bars, why not kill the witnesses?
Patents: A patent gives an inventor the right for a limited period to stop others from making, using or selling an invention without the permission of the inventor. It is a deal between an inventor and the state in which the inventor is allowed a short term monopoly in return for allowing the invention to be made public.
Patents are about functional and technical aspects of products and processes.
Trademarks: A trade mark is any sign which can distinguish the goods and services of one trader from those of another.
Copyright: Copyright gives the creators of a wide range of material, such as literature, art, music, sound recordings, films and broadcasts, economic rights enabling them to control use of their material in a number of ways, such as by making copies, issuing copies to the public, performing in public, broadcasting and use on-line.
Designs: A design refers to the appearance of the whole or a part of a product resulting from the features of, in particular, the lines, contours, colours, shape, texture or materials of the product or its ornamentation.
Indeed. The Web lets you find out information about anything, shop for just about anything, communicate with millions of others from all around the world, and access just about any kind of entertainment you want. But no - you can't spend all day on it, you have to work instead.
Is it me, or is that a bit of a torturous decision to make?
What's with all these AC posts that are clearly just reposts of other postings from other threads? They all have a couple of random letters at the end too. It's seems to be some new and bizarre troll...
When I read Brave New World I wasn't that impressed. I was expecting some terrible vision of the future, but I was left with the thought "meh, it's pretty much like that nowadays". Of course I then got the point that this was the whole reason for the book in the first place...
A hell of a lot of techies I've known have a background in martial arts - especially engineers who've studied jujitsu. Martial arts are, of course, something that can get very, very nerdy indeed.
Interesting. This could explain the (albeit anecdotal on my part) tom-boyish nature of the women who were in my university's engineering department, and the seeming lack of alpha-maleness among the men there. These patterns seem to be fairly standard among techie fields in general.
Same here. The only thing that I find more useful/easier in Mozilla is the dialogue box for saving a file - in Firefox you have to expand the window several times to save to a different directory than you previously used. This can get a bit annoying if I'm saving multiple files which need putting in different directories. A small problem, but it does annoy me.
I remember being late for a martial arts lesson, which was held in a place not too far from my house. While running to get there, I noticed a particularly fast looking car parked by the road. I seriously thought that if I nicked it, it would save me a few minutes of lateness. I then realised it was actually illegal, and I wasn't Tommy Vercetti - and I'd probably get into a bit more trouble than getting a wanted star that could be ditched by finding the nearest Pay 'n' Spray.
I remember one thing that FAST tried to discourage piracy that really deserves 10 out of 10 for ingenuity. They claimed that pirate software wouldn't run properly on your Amiga, and would cause it to malfunction slightly. This would cause odd power surges through the Amiga's huge power supply (the Brick), and this would produce big electromagnetic fields that would GIVE YOU CANCER.
Whenever I read a paper with a double-page advert, I skip it the moment I see the advert - so I don't even open the pages fully.
It might have been better to have the two pages appearing with an ordinary page of text in between them, for example, the page of names first, then in a page's time, the main advert.
This would mean that skipping it was less likely, and there was a bit of foreshadowing: hopefully the reader's curiosity at this list of names and something called "Firefox" would make them pay attention to the main advert when they then turned to the next page and saw it.

Then there's Spaced, which is an amazing TV programme. I hope there's going to be a third series.

If you want it to go for a lot, put it on eBay after using a toaster to burn a picture of the Virgin Mary on it.
UNIX administrator and pwned by two cats

It's certainly better than radioactive beige.

Just a thought...

On the plus side, you can get a shotgun from their cars, with about 15 rounds in it, if I remember correctly.
When you completed a line of boxes they disappeared, perhaps?
Anyway, where's the triangle button in real life?
I can't wait for the **AA to try that one.
...and thereby learning the true meaning of Christmas.
Look! On the left! It's John Kerry!

*dons tin-foil hat*
All the names are in alphabetical order, so it's not that hard.
Darn you! Darn you to heck!
*shakes fists*
I have a feeling we might hear of Freedom Hating Illegal Filetraders soon. It has a certain zeitgeisty ring to it :)
"Ass. of America"? Hmmm. I doubt that was unintentional...
