Really, when you think of your computer area, you don't think of bacteria as you would when you think about a bathroom, so you're less inclined to clean it to the extent you would a bathroom. But either way, pretty much everything else is as equally as bacteria ridden. It's like the test they did on Myth Busters where they tested to see if a tooth brush left by the toilet would really pick up fecal matter, and they found out that tooth brushes all over the building had the same amount of fecal matter on them after a month of use.
C is still alive and kickin' in the NIX community I'd say. It seems it's really just Windows where other languages (C++, C#) seem to be taking over. Just because C isn't being used much in the Windows world doesn't mean it's dying ot is going to die anytime soon.
I'm a musician, I use linux. We mix fine. Audacity for all my recoring and editing needs, and nothing yet for notation, but there is no reason something as powerful as say Finale for Windows couldn't be ported or developed for Linux. The point is, there is no reason that Linux and musicains shouldn't mix.
I can't imagine something like this actually happening.. But with all these other absurd patents, copyrights being approved I wouldn't be surpised to see this a few years down the line. Absurd.
All the porn sites now pretty much all have the same content.. It's just a matter of who has more and who can deliver it cheaper. With so much competition it's no surprise they have the latest and greatest.
DirecTV sounds like a great choice.
Or cable.. I had DirecTV for several years, but I finally switched due to the constans loss of reciption when it rains (Which is often does in summer). For about the same price as DirecTV, I got cable with all the channels I actually watch and a 3Mbit/300Kbit broadband line.
There's always the grassroots method. But then again, the media is just so controling now it's hard to get something such as a grassroots campaign to have any major influence on anything. Oh well.
That's pretty slick. Now just stick the batteries in something nice and shinny that will go beter with iPod's sexy design, and we're cooking with fire.
If people would just pay more attention to their possesions and surroundings there wouldn't be a real big problem with this in the first place. Having an alarm will just give people an even more false sense of security, when inevetably, just like cars, the alarms will do little to stop theives.
According to the newspaper here, it says that the two new super heavys have been added to the periodic table. So either they missed the bit about awaiting varification, or we missed that bit about them being varified.
Like quite a feat. It's amazing how far robotics, and computing in general have come over the past few years. I can't wait till technology like this becomes affordable and we can finally have those oh-so-wonderful robot slaves to fetch us drinks and vacuum the floor and such, alas, that is still a far way off.
According to my ISP (Cox), my account is unlimited also. But when I went and looked at the fine print it said that by unlimited they really mean 'always connected' and that they do, in fact, have bandwidth limitations. The limits, were not in the same reading though. I eventually managed to find the limitations on their website cox.net but only after 5 or 10 minutes of digging for it. If I remember correctly the download limit was 7 gigs a day, but no more then 30 gigs a month, and upload was 2 gigs a day, but no more than 7 gigs a month. Although these may be wrong since I can't totally remember, and when I went to look it up, I was, of course, not able to find it.
Heh, if you google my name you don't get anything about me. But you'll get plenty of stuff about an English professor, and an author of a handful of big selling books. I'd say I'm good to go.
I would think getting your name changed would help quite a bit. Seems kind of silly to post your real name in the google personals if you're wanted by the FBI.
I was wondering how long it would take before one format finaly reigned surpreme. I guess this may be it.. Or not.

Where are the wings? I thought something looked strange about it, it would look a lot better with wings.
The price is about $18,000, but you can choose between five colors.
Oh, 5 colors! That explains it.
The Mozilla logo may be so so, but the Mozilla Firefox logo is probably the nicest logo I have ever seen.
Nothing like finding what the customer wants and giving it to him/her.
Or lack thereof...
Scare people into buying licences.. Sue them anyway..
What a surpise! Sheesh, this is never going to go anywhere.

Too bad this isn't available in the US. It would make a really nice gift (To me).
...and it is available for Linux.
Too bad the free personal version isn't. I was really hoping to try it out without having to dish out a few thousand bucks.

I guess that explains why they use Macs in Hackers.

"Gates didn't laugh"
I find this very humorous.
